Default F-Pace diagnose options

Hi.

I was searching for options to make diagnostics to my car. I found 2 diferent options that i like: a) JLR SSD v159 and b) icarsoft cr pro

In the option a) after searcging amazon, ebay aliexp .... it seems that usual cables (mongoose) donīt work on f pace 2016... What kind of cable can i use to conect to JLR SSD for basic diagnoses?

Option b) seems pretty good for basics and has upgrades for life time...not very cheap and has ess options than JLR SDD.

What do you use?

Tks.

I have the iCarsoft LR V2.0 and it works well on both my F Type and F Pace. I mainly just use it to retrieve and reset any codes though. The cable that comes with it plugs right into the OBDII port. If you're looking for more than that, the SSD is the way to go. But for me, I'll take it to a dealer or and independant shop if I need a diagnostic tool to do more than to just reset or check codes.

Tks.

The main problem is to find a suitable (and cheap) cable for de SSD. Every time I ask sellers if the cable works on the f pace 2016, they say " well i dont know for sure...probably not..."

Does anyone use SSD on f pace or models > 2106?

When SDD was introduced, the recommended interface cable was Drew Technologies Mongoose, later superseded by Mongoose Pro. Drew Technologies have withdrawn their Jaguar cable from sale and their website suggests they will not be producing a Mongoose for current models such as your F-Pace. The subtext of this is they can't make it work!

The current version of SDD version 1.60 was issued on 17th August 2020 and certainly covers F-Pace. However, I suspect the only compatible interface cable is now the one from Diagnostic Associates (DA) which isn't cheap.

There are likely to be "compatible" clone cables as there were with Mongoose. Although suitable for code reading, I definitely wouldn't consider programming modules with a clone.

Ok, tks. Now i got it.

I wont do any kind of programming...my objective is just basic services (oil, filter, abs, brakes, etc etc...) and realize what kind of erros does it has.

Maybe it will be better to go for the icarsoft...

Do you know if the spark plugs errors ( like if one is not working properly...) apear on icarsoft machines?

I still use the SDD / Mongoose Pro combination on my 2014 XK so I haven't yet needed to consider iCarsoft. However, a lot of members across our model forums are using the brand as a lower cost alternative. Have a look for the relevant topic on XK or F-Type forums for advice and opinions.

Rockwarrior,

That's all I use my iCarsoft for is maintenance. There are many options out there if you're not doing any programming. Myself and a couple others in the F Type forum have not had any issues with battery drain using it. I'm not pushing that particular model, it's just what I have.
