A fix for InControl App not updating
Hi, I recently swapped my 2015 XFR-S for a 2023 F Pace SVR which I am really enjoying - particularly the updated electronics/media.
On Tuesday when parking my car I was prompted by a message on the screen to install a new software update which I did (I checked 2 hours later that the install was a success which it was).
The car sat until Friday when I drove it again. Once parked up again I noticed on the InControl App on my phone that my car was not showing as having moved since Tuesday and the Journey Log had not updated and the car’s status was showing as “Locked” rather than the normal “Alarmed” even though I had double-locked it to activate the alarm.
I went on the Jaguar website and after much searching found a support number for the InControl team but the time was after their 3pm cut-off.
Luckily the Chat function on the website was still working and after some time I finally got to chat/type to a real person who gave me a fix to the issue which I thought I would share:
- Drive the car for a few minutes to a new location
- With the engine running press-and-hold the Jaguar Assistance button in the roof panel (the left one with the spanner symbol on it) for 20 seconds – it will go from a constant on to a flashing fast then slow etc.- just hold for 20 seconds then release
- Now with the Jaguar Assistance button released delete the Jaguar InControl App from your phone then download it again and log in with your existing login/password
The App will then update to the car and download the full Journey Log and current Status etc.
Hope this helps- Cas
