Default Forward Alert

How is this supposed to function? Does it flash light and sound an alarm or what?

Mine is switched on and set to high sensitivity and I have never heard a peep from it, I've tried to run up to the back of other vehicles
without being stupid but no response, is it just not working or have I missed something?
On other vehicles, it usually makes a big fuss with very little provocation.

Norri,

As you will know, we don't often get enough free road space to use Cruise Control in the UK so I had to check if mine is fitted with ACC and FA. It's not but my reading then suggested you may have a fault as you should get a warning tone and the message FORWARD ALERT in the message centre in the 'user defined sensitivity area'. Can't quite decide from this whether the author of the Owner's Handbook is extremely naive or has a wicked sense of humour.

It would help is there was an indication of max and min range but the only useful information is the FA uses the same radar sensor as the ACC which is likely to be a max of three vehicle lengths.

Thanks Graham, I read the manual also and it's clear as mud as is often the case.
I wondered if the lack of responses means that none of them work.
It's not a huge deal as I can usually see when I'm going to run into something but if it's there it should work.
I'll ask at the next service.
