Infotainment upgrade
I'm a little bit confused. I have a F-Pace MY2017 and I think it wasn't ever update. I did a map update on my own, but if i want to do for infotainment set, all Jaguar resellers here in Italy replay:
"We do not recommend Infotainment updates as they can cause the system to block, requiring the customer to replace the entire IMC module at their own expense. In your case, the C2D5425PE spare part costs €1,543.88 excluding labour"...
Anyone can recommend an independent garage in North Italy for the update?
The car is equipped with InControl Touch Pro system; I have been told that it should be possible to perform a software update known as **H251** (or newer equivalent, such as **19B**) which enables Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
My vehicle currently does not show the “Software Update” option in the infotainment menu, and is not up to date.
I have verified that it is equipped with:
- NGI High Head Unit (Touch Pro)
- SIM slot
- HDMI slot
- Compatible USB ports
- Active Pro Services
A user from F-Pace group in Facebook wrote me:
"This is a known issue and is covered in the workshop manual. It says if the diagnostic device says restart you must ignore it and follow a set procedure. If you don’t it can make the audio unit ‘unrecoverable’ as they put it.
Unfortunately many places including dealers do not bother reading the workshop manual and just follow onscreen instructions then try and get you to pay for their error.
I have a 2017 and mine has been upgraded and it’s great. It was done before I got it.
I suggest you hunt for someone who has actually read the manual".
