The attached link to a 3m 24s video shows start to finish of the replacement of a leaking Coolant Vent Hose on my 2017 35t F-Pace. If you notice a slow coolant leak check this part first.
Background: I had noticed coolant loss from Max to Min mark on the reservoir over 8,000 miles. Fearing the worst that it was failure of the lower outlet ('Y') pipe's flanged joints (plenty of threads on this), I had it pressure tested at the dealership. The test passed but they noticed a small weep from the vent hose that connects the reservoir to the radiator header tank at the tank quick connect. Photos attached. Since this was easily accessible I did the replacement myself.
My time: < 4 minutes including hood opening and removal of the engine cover.
My cost: $52.81 partnumber T4A1783, $22 1 gallon coolant (that wasn't needed).
Dealership quote: $395.36 including 1h.6hrs labor of $321.30 @$199.99/hr
Preemptive comment: I am aware that dealerships have a minimum labor time charge (e.g. 1 hr) to cover check-in and paperwork etc.

Yes, fully resolved.
Note there are numerous coolant system potential leak sources and causes so it's crucial to first diagnose the source properly. Usually by evidence of crusty coolant residue or by pressurizing the system and actually seeing the leak. In some cases, e.g. the 'y' pipe on the V6/V8 you may need a horoscope type inspection camera to see down in the Vee of the engine.

 

Thanks, cheers! They pressure tested mine as I asked them to and there is no visible leak. I ordered this part to be safe and will replace it soon. Thanks for the description of your symptoms and resolution!

 

On the F-Type forum it's been suggested to shine a UV light source while wearing amber lens glasses to identify sources of leaks. Apparently, the coolant is phosphorescent under UV light.

 

You can see it without amber glasses as well, its pretty bright. The vent hose did the trick for me, no more coolant smell after driving short distances.

Mine gushed coolant and I am pretty sure I had a bubble left in the upper rad. I topped off and bled the system, and my level is stable after a week.
