Default New to f-pace, need help identifying packages

Hello I usually post in the xk8 forum, as I have a 97 coupe, however I was at a Lexus dealership today with my business partner and spotted a f-pace on the lot. Here’s my question;

online they list it as an 18 f-pace, 30t portfolio. How do I verify that it is a portfolio model? It looks pretty good outside and good inside, dark green exterior with brown/dark tan interior, 67xxx mi and they’re asking 22k. But again how do I verify that it is a portfolio model. Please help, I wasn’t looking for this car but I wasn’t looking for my xk8 either, just came across a good deal. Thanks

30t is the 4 cylinder. Not a good thing. At that mileage it’ll be due for timing chain tensioner service soon.

You can’t count on the “package” necessarily giving you the options you may want. Best to figure out what it is you want and then physically verifying if this car has those items. You also can’t count on any of the listings because the database is not always 100% accurate. In order to insure I got my Pace’s with adaptive cruise I had to look at every car’s front picture to see the plastic rectangle.

Hey thanks for the reply. To clarify things I wasn’t really looking for the car, but it seems in good condition. I was really trying to find out how to know or tell if it really is a portfolio package car, as they seem to be pretty rare vs the premium or prestige ones. As far as the timing chains go, I just did that to my 97 xk8 4.0 so that doesn’t deter me, however it is a great piece of knowledge and a good bargaining chip for getting the price down some if I decide to get it. It would be for my girlfriend, as I don’t need it and can’t find much time to drive my xk8. Is getting the vin and checking with a Jaguar dealer the best way to go? Or is there a way I could see rpo codes in the car to see for myself(like the older chevys had the sticker printed in the glove box with all the rpo codes)? Thanks for any help, I don’t know much about this model jag, as I’ve only owned a 04 xtype, and now have a 97 xk8. I did find one website that showed the portfolio package was only offered in one color, maybe a silver or something I think but this car is green metallic, but that doesn’t rule out the fact that if someone ordered it to be painted the color they want and paid for it, it could’ve happened(which if true would only make it rarer) just looking for some newbie advice on this model, any other suggestions about what to check out welcome. If it’s worth it I might just buy it for my girl as she is a hard worker and definitely deserves a nice luxury ride, but doesn’t need the 500 something horsepower version of the f-pace cus when I drive it there will be tickets to pay for lol! She has an 18 rav4 limited that she just paid off which is a great low maintenance car, but I wanna see her in something a little more classy, cus in my opinion she deserves it. Thanks all!

There are different trims for this model I believe:
Premium
Portfolio
S-Model
I believe the Portfolio has heated/cooled seats and Adaptive Cruise Control.
Try verifying VIN. It could will tell you the exact DNA for this F-Pace
The 30T has a 2.0 turbocharge 4 cylinder gas engine. I believe this has the Ingenium engine on it. To make sure, lift the hood and if it says on the plastic engine cover Ingenium, that's a very good engine. Bullet proof engine tagged by a lot of Jaguar owners I read online. That is why I bought my XF with an Ingenium
Do not buy the Diesel Ingeniums as this has timing chain problem. 2019 and beyond is where the correction was made in the timing chain issue.

So I did a little digging and did a vin search based off the vin listed on the dealerships posting (not off the actual car itself) and the car comes up as the same year model but as a 25t? The car itself says 30t, (I may have already stated a 20t by mistake). Is there anyone out there who could really verify the vin for me and its packages before I make any move? Let me know thanks

I re-read your OP. If it's a Portfolio model it's an upgrade over the Premium models. Portfolio is $4000 more than the Premium. The 30T vs 25T. Same engine but 30T has more HP. 30T has 296HP while 25T has 269HP., so you got 27 extra horsies. MPG wise 25T drinks less gas/perol over 30T. The F-Pace comes standard with a 25T engine but the buyer has the option to upgrade to a 30T engine
Here is what I gather on the online about the Portfolio models. Premium models does not include these options.
The Jaguar F-PACE 30t Portfolio comes with a variety of standard features, including:
  • Climate control: Two-zone climate control
  • Heated seats: Heated front seats and heated rear seats
  • Navigation: Navigation system
  • Power outlets: Multiple power outlets
  • Steering wheel: Leather-wrapped steering wheel and heated steering wheel
  • Wireless technology: Bluetooth wireless technology and smartphone interface
  • Rear seats: Folding rear seats
  • Keyless entry: Remote keyless entry and proximity sensing keyless entry
  • Entertainment: Premium radio, satellite radio, and iPod connector
  • Safety: Alarm system and rear window defroster
The F-PACE 30t also has a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 296 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque.
If it comes with Adaptive Cruise Control, 22' wheels, and Windsor leather seats your lucky, that's extra option the buyer purchased
NOTE: My 2018 XF is a Premium model and don't have the options mentioned above. But I'm happy with my car.

Good luck

Like I said, can’t count on any of the databases. If you give the VIN to a Jag dealer then you might get a correct list.

The options that you might find are:
Rear climate
Rear seats that recline,
Luxury ambient lighting
Digital dash dials.
Tech package that included the wide screen infotainment and CarPlay.
Heated and sometimes cooled seats. Just because the seats are perforated doesn’t mean they are cooled.
Meridian surround or not.
Lighted sill plates.

None which are guaranteed to be present by package label. If you are interested in the car you need to go drive it. See what it actually has.
