I have a 2020 F-pace S that I frequently us the Jaguar app from my phone to remotely start the car with. It works well except when I get in the car and press the Brake it shuts the car off and I need to restart it. The display says pressing the brake should allow me to use the gear selector but it does not. I need to restart the car for this to happen. I called the dealer and he said this is normal.

My 2019 XJ does not have this issue. When I start it remotely I just get in press the brake and the gear selector rises and I drive off. It seems strange to me that the two cars would be set up differently.

Can someone that starts their car remotely let me know if they too have to restart upon entry. Thanks!

 

Did you close your door before pressing the brake? Or before you buckle your seatbelt. It has to do with the Driver Exit feature. Try one of those or both and you should be good to go.

Yes. I just went to the garage made sure the door was closed and my seatbelt on. Still had to restart the car in order to use the gear selector.

 

That's not normal. Neither of our F Paces did that. Always stayed running after remote start. I'd go back to the dealer and have them prove it on one in their lot.

Curious, what dealer in Florida did you contact?

 

Thanks. I will take it by the dealer. I use Fort Meyers Jaguar. They have been excellent in the past. Not sure why they got this one wrong.

 

Fort Meyers is good from what I've heard as well. Maybe the guy on the phone just didn't understand what you were explaining.
