Hey all,
I was wondering where the best place is to get a workshop manual?
Please don't suggest Haynes, my experience with Haynes Mini manuals - back in the 70s they were so detailed with all the specs and measurements you need to rebuild a car. the ones i seen in the 90's can be summed up as follows:-
engine removal:-
undo the 4 nuts holding the bonnet on,
remove engine.
installation is reverse process of removal.
lol
I don't mind paying for a good manual but hate paying for something less than a google search would produce.
There is very little documentation available from the traditional sources for modern Jaguars and several members with other models have chosen to obtain the factory workshop manual for their vehicle. JLR dealer Workshop Manuals have been online for some years and are accessed through TOPIx. Although this is the dealer portal, anyone can create an account.
That's where the good news ends. Although some basic information can be downloaded, detailed documentation is only available by buying "time". This can be by the hour, day, week, month or year. Here's an indication of the cost for me to have 1 Day full access for a single model:
That is more than sufficient time to download the entire Workshop Manual for a specific vehicle.
NOTE: if you decide to take this approach, make sure the manual for your model is available before buying time. I know XK and F-Type are available but haven't yet read a report of any member going for the F-Pace manual.
thanks for that - there is a 3Kpage PDF for the FL2 - I take it someone must have done this as it feels there should be links etc.
I will have to sign up and see what the craic is.
cheers
