Very impressive run. Amazing what all wheel drive does for the drag times.

Well, AWD and another 50 hp and and 40 lbs torque and 125 lbs less weight if his current car is a coupe vs convertible.....

Congrats on a great run!

Cool to see the difference between a 495hp rwd and a 550hp awd

Be interesting to see the difference between R coupe rwd and R coupe awd

If both on street tyres I'd expect the AWD to 60FT and ET quicker, but the R to have a marginally quicker terminal speed of say 1-2mph due to less transmission losses compared to AWD model.

Put the R on drag radials and it should then in theory win the race.

His V8S time was pretty slow; member mj1903 recently posted a stock V8S time of 11.77 at 121.29. ....and of course there is always MT's 11.6 @ 122 for a V8S

I'm not saying a V8S is quicker or as quick as an AWD R but the difference isn't as much as some think. ...the power is up on the AWD R by 40PS (510 vs. 550) but there is the additional weight and drag of the AWD system. I'm with Gibbo; quickest R 1/4 mile would be a RWD with sticky tires

Cheers,

Dave

I'd like to see what a stage 1 and then with a pulley upgrade, tuned v8 with intake would run consistently. See if it's really worth the money and not just that addicting supercharger whine. lol

For me it was worth two tenths of a second to date. I started running into wheel spin issues along with fuel dump to cool the cats at high RPM. I’m planning to give the strip another shot after the PS4S tires go on this week and that should give a good idea of the real gains from a lower pulley/tune/colder plugs.

11.39 @ 123. Both a little disappointing, but when reviewing the logs; its quite clear the vehicle just falls off at the top end because of fuel dump. I didn't let it cool enough between runs.

What are you using to log? Wouldn't hurt to add a gallon or two of E85 for its cooling properties and see the results. Most modern performance cars respond really well to lower mixtures of ethanol (~E25-30) over standard E10 pump gas with everything else unchanged.

Its my understanding that the need to dump fuel is based on a calculated value and not actual measured temperatures of the cats. Thus the E85 blend wouldn't help this issue.

I had been using ScanXL to log, but its sampling rate isn't fast enough so i'm looking for something else.

I tried 100 octane to see if that would make a difference in my times and to see if I might be pulling timing, I saw ZERO improvement for the stock tune on 100 vs 93.

Not surprised no gains beyond 93 octane, but be glad you have it. Here in Cali we get crap 91 octane...
