Coupe R stock vs Coupe R ETG Tune and pully (1/2 mile vid)
I participated in a half mile rolling race this weekend and there was another Coupe R, only he happened to have the (correction, ETG) tune and pully swap. So we tried a head to head to see what the difference really was. Unfortunately my second gopro didn't record so I only have this one angle. I think he won by about 2 1/2 car lengths. After the initial pull away we stayed pretty even in acceleration to 150mph.

It was at No Fly Zone 6 at Shafter CA. Temps got into the high 90s and everyone was slowing down by the end. He did get a slight jump but definitely pulled harder at 50-120. That is about when I kept him at the same distance. Fun event, I'll post more vids and photos soon. Held my own against most in my power range. Had a corvette explode into flames and a cloud of smoke in front of me while going 150mph. That was a sight!

I'll update the video to reflect that it is ETG. I thought they just installed Hennessey's software so that's where the confusion came from.
The start is deceptive from my POV. I think I let off before the start cones which probably exaggerated the look of you slingshotting out in front. Either way, your car has pull!
Great running with you!! Wish we got in another run.

You didn't jump the start, you were just going faster than him at the line to catch up, which obviously gave you an advantage. This is the problem with roll starts.

+1 on roll starts, which aren't the best test of either car set-up or skill. There's a lot of luck and randomness involved, which is also why I don't put a lot of stock in 0-60 or 1/4 mile car review times.

wow, that is true for every performance test or racing for that matter, of course "luck" also plays a roll. Still the only way we can measure performance and can compare. A missed shift, brake point or apex, a split second at the start , of course that makes a difference, you can call it luck or skill, whatever. The best result is still from testers who do 0-60 all the time and get to try it until they feel they got the best out of the car.
There are always a lot of comments and mere oppinions of people who do not dare track/race their car or for that matter even question "manual shifting" as premature wear and tear let alone modify the car.
Thanks for posting and sharing this, this gives some real insight even if the nay sayers claim an advantage at the start.
