Have you thought about canceling your project 7 order as a result of this? Especially in light of the fact that Jaguars making so many new high end models, such as the new SVR model.

I have time to make that decision, but right now I am not a great fan of Jaguar.

I am not sure who is jerking me around if it's the dealer of JLR.

Looks like JLR who is being evasive and making empty promises.

I have a copy of an email from Regional rep from JLR promising to follow up. My car is still not listed as handed over to transport company.

My car is now in Port Recall for 3 1/2 weeks.

If it goes on much longer I may just cancel the Type R and the project 7 and start looking at the new McLaren sport series.

I couldn't blame you. That's not the way to treat someone spending $250,000+ on two jags, and I don't think you're even getting any kind of a discount off sticker.

$250,000, I wish.

The Project 7 is over $200,000 by itself and don't forget the other 4 JLR products sitting my garage.

The Type R has every option installed, so it's $130k

Nothing like knowing your a valued customer.

A few years ago JLR was desperate for buying customers, today they are becoming quite arrogant.

The 3 1/2 weeks of the car sitting there without any update to you is bad. I might call the manager of the dealership, briefly explain that he and his staff have performed so badly that you are on the verge of not only cancelling both orders but also be having your assistant (say you have one even if you don't) make sure that jaguar executives know, in writing, why you cancelled. There are plenty of other awesome car companies looking for your $400k.

On Monday I am going to call the dealer owner and express my disappointment. The dealer, has actually in my past 5 buying experiences been very good. I do not blame the dealer, I do Blame JLR as they have been less than open as what is really going on with my car.

This is a shame. I feel really bad that you've been let down. I know you wanted to get the car while the weather was good enough to drive it. Now that it isn't, be patient. I think you'll be happy when the car arrives. The project 7 will be a great car too. Hang in there..

Today was notified that my car has arrived at the dealer. I am just concerned that the car was damaged during shipment. My car has been MIA for 4 weeks with no information regarding the so called " PORT RECALL"

From what I have read, it seems there is no obligation for car manufacturers to inform the dealer or the client that the car has been damaged during shipment. I also read that most car importers have service shops setup at the port to repair cars damaged in transport.

I remember and old case about a lawyer who sued BMW for not disclosing repairs made to his car for damage during transportation.

I will be doing a very close inspection looking for any signs of repairs made to the car. Also have a made a request to the Jaguar Customer Relations Department in Coventry to provide me with all the details as to why my car required 4 weeks to go from the Port to my dealer a trip that normally takes 26 hours according to the forwarding company.

They say they will respond to my request within 24 hours. We will see what happens. They have just ruined this whole experience for me.

You can ask a used car dealer or a detailer to inspect the car with a paint depth gauge to check it is in mint condition.

I have to say though - your words are quite dramatic. If you believe they have ruined the whole experience then why not cancel and start again. You don't have to take delivery.

the dealer sent me this photo.

I am going to wait and see what Jaguar comes back with the reason why it was held for so long. If indeed it is just a mechanical recall, then I will go ahead with delivery, but if it is a paint issue then I will take a pass.

Rather than waiting for those bozos why not just call the dealer and ask their used car manager if he has a paint depth gauge?

Even if Coventry tell you it is fine doesn't mean you should believe them. Waiting for Jag is just wasting time IMO.

The car looks great from here! Hopefully a few days from now this will all be distant unpleasant memory and you'll get a chance to drive the car a bit and be smiling from ear to ear.

No it's to late the roads are all covered with stones and sand. I don't need to have it sand blasted and stone chipped.

I don't blame you for that. I've seen the sand/stone they put on the roads in Alberta. There's hardly a windshield that isn't broken.
Good luck. I hope you end up as happy as I am with mine.

Great way to spend a Sunday!

There's two ways to upload pictures to the forum:

1. upload directly from the PC, tablet, phone etc
2. link to OnLine storage e.g. Photobucket

For details check this thread in Jaguar Forums Feedback & Suggestion Center :

https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/j...pictures-2418/

If you have problems uploading, send me a PM.

Graham

Italian Racing Red with a Black Pack. Lovely combo. I do hope everything gets settled with your delivery.

Some day maybe. I still have not received my car. The transport truck was suppose to deliver it yesterday but it never showed up. They now tell me it will be today.....I will believe it when I see it in my driveway
