Default 2014 Jaguar F-type V8 S

Hello, to all F-type owners, i finally pull the trigger and bought a 2014 F-Type V8 S White and Black.

I must say i a quite pleased with my new car.

As you may see i had a 2001 XKR for the last 16 years and she was great and still the beauty she was 16 years ago.

But I like the new technology and after 16 years just decided she needs a new home or at least pasture.

I will post pictures in future but for now she is going through general modifications. adding stereo equipment and front and rear camera etc. also going through paint correction and clear bra.

I hate that i get new car and now it gone for a month!

Hope you all have a great Holiday and a Happy New Year. Thanks for all help and answers in advance.
Kind regards,
Mitchell

Welcome, sounds like you're enjoying doing the mods but not the time loss. My car is hibernating for winter and it's painful only two weeks in not driving it. Welcome to f type ownership.

Congratulations and welcome to the V8S Club!!

I placed my V8S order in October 2012 and my car was delivered in November 2013 - which makes me one of the oldest-timers in regards to the Game of F-Types.

The V8S is one of the most sublime products ever produced by Jaguar.

Smooth, classy, yet responsive and enormous fun.

I loved every minute of being in it!

As I'm a bit of a Hoon one of the reasons I bought it was I knew the motor was detuned and would only require ECU tuning to unlock its potential- something that Jaguar has continued to do with its subsequent releases of various products that offer the SC V8 - up to and including the Project 8 with 600hp (still internally identical).

Since then I too have gone a bit nuts with mods - upgraded 770W Meridian, various custom BCU tweaks (like switching off the hazards when braking hard etc) - as well as a RaceChip that sits on top of the SVR tune and Velocity AP's sport-cats - dyno'd at 450kW and 760Nm.

With open exhaust valves - its a weapons-grade exhaust experience that attracts complaints from people who live nearly 1km away and has terrified my 2yo so much he won't even sit in the car - even with the engine off!

But the car has lost the gentle and beautifully rounded character that it started with. That's what has happened to the F-Type with R's/SVR's/AWD's etc - they've all given more go and snappiness but just aren't the refined exquisitely balanced package the V8S was when it was stock.

Enjoy what you have - as it's one of the rarest F-Types around. Savour it.

And if you hanker to go a little faster - there's a whole world of options just waiting for you!

Make sure to stay on top of engine oil changes, service interval is borderline neglect. These direct injected engines with oil-pressure timing control systems are VERY sensitive to bad oil.

Also, early V8s have coolant pump leak. So keep an eye on your coolant level.

Absolutely love my V8S. Had it since last October, still stock/unmodified. I daily drive it and we take it on long road trips wine tasting and occasionally spirited driving on back roads. Love every second I'm in it and the ~500ish horsepower is plenty for a nonracer/nondragster like myself who just likes to have a little fun from time to time well within my limits.

My car is under warranty until 2020 and am considering trading in for a newer R or SVR before the clock runs out but am unsure, as I love this one so much. Will have to try driving a few and see if they have the same feel. Love how easy this car is to drive easy every day or have fun when the fever hits.
