Default 2014 V8 PPI & common issues

More than a year ago we almost ended up with a v8S, but the numbers didnt work out with a few dealers we were talking to and we got sidetracked and bought another car
Now we are in the market yet again for a loud convertible f type! My wife likes the f type from the beginning
With many of the 2014 models being out of warranty, I wanted to reach out and see if anyone can share the common issues on the car, particularly the v8 models. We are currently talking to a few dealers and are close to doing a pre purchase inspection. I did search on the forum but the reliability threads are quite old from last year, wondering if there are any new issues that popped up as the car roll out of factory warranty. For some reason there are very few CPO models on sale (or rather they are priced so much higher than the ones without that I dont think it's worth the premium).
FYI I did read on the stuck center vent, rattling speakers, battery drain and window reset.
Thanks all!!

Exhaust mufflers are another weak spot with valves that fail / get noisy. Had mine replaced 3 months ago and have read of others on this forum who have experienced the same

Water pump on the 5.0L V-8. It's not expensive and not too difficult to replace but unless you can DIY this stuff I don't know if I would get a car without a warranty?

Thanks guys!

Do you know if the water pump is a recurring issue? or once replaced, it will be good (revised design because of known defect?)

That is kinda a bummer since it will be a daily and overheating isnt fun from my college experience lol

It's an updated part, so should not recur for another 80-100k miles.

AJ133 is solid as they come if:

A. Check the oil weekly and learn how to actually get an accurate reading, not hard.

B. If it ever blows a cooling line or "Gets hot" no matter where you are you shut it off immediately, not down the road, not at the nearest rest stop, right there in gridlock and let traffic work around you.

C. You don't run it lean with a bad tune, as a few have done.

D. You don't follow the 10k every year service interval, change your oil often (depending on how hard you drive it) or even 5k you will be fine.

that being said, these are rules for any motor let alone exotics.

The water pump issue was resolved and not every one is effected. i asked this exact question a few months ago and found some of the other V8 models with the AJ133 have 100,000 on them at this point. i honestly wouldn't worry about it not being a motor that lasts. Just my 2 cents Im no expert as mine only has 26k and i have had a few issues that jag has taken care of without question do to my service records being up to date.

There are a couple of issues with the stereo that have been resolved through software updates and installation of anti-rattle insulation in the doors.

Well it looks like Jaguar has had at least 3 versions of the water pump so far.

As Unhinged said it SHOULD be fixed by now but we are still seeing multiple water pump failures on some cars. If you want to be sure research which part number is the current release.

Looks like the water pump has been an issue with both the V8 and V6, me the latter. I had mine replaced under warranty at my dealer. If it were not under warranty, it would have been a $900 fix at the dealer.

Also, look at the fuel fill. Mine would click off, so that was replaced too.

You might also go to a local Jaguar dealer, give them the VIN and see if there is any warranty left. I bought my car from an independent dealer (used) and found out from the Jaguar dealer that my warranty runs out next May. So it is possible that there might be some warranty left. In any case, I asked my dealer if they would sell me an extended warranty and they did ($$$). I think its a 3rd party warranty though.
