Any dentists here?
I am a general dentist. When I bought my R last weekend, my sales agent told me that for some reason, Jags have been the preferred vehicle of choice of dentists (and esp. the F-Type) from his sales experience. I found that quite interesting and amusing. It's funny how some professions seem to "gravitate" towards a particular car, maybe reflecting something about that particular profession and the characteristics of the individual. For example, a lot of my oral surgery colleagues own Porsche 911's. One of them even has a big tooth decal with a smiley face on it on his rear glass window. lol.
On a side note, I just found out that a good buddy of mine (another dentist) just bought a slightly used Ferrari California (my dream car) after cross-shopping it against a F-Type R and a 911. Just called me this morning to "rub it in." Grrr......

Haha.....I was waiting for a response like that. Good one.
Don't you know we dentists are **** about everything? Why do you think we use magnifying eyeglasses when the patient's face is literally only a foot away from our own face? lol.
I remember sometime last year, one of my oral surgery buddies told me that he applied 7 coats of wax on his 911 in one day! I asked him why and he said that every time he applied on a layer, it wasn't shiny enough. He said that after the 7th layer, he wanted to apply even more, but his wife had enough and took action! lol. On a serious note, he was later diagnosed with OCD and I assume a lot of guys in my profession has it to some degree also. Our profession demands exact precision and attention to detail and this puts a lot of stress in how we work and live. Personally, early in my career, I was obsessive about everything also, work-related or not. Now, I don't give a ****......well, not really.

He probably spells the affliction "CDO".
A good dentist just uses mirrors. (Props to my DDS best man)

There isn't a Day where we don't think about the Dentist and their Patients, there is no way one of our Implants, Prosthodontics , Restoratives etc can ever fail. After all, you and your Colleagues have enough to think about without wondering whether one of the Products you are using is going to work perfectly or not.
I'm lucky though, OCD doesn't really affect other parts of my life, except our Cars, but then again, I'm from Auto Manufacturing originally, so maybe that's where I get that from too ?
I'm not a Dentist but I'm in Dental Products Manufacturing where being OCD is one of the qualifications , so I understand completely.

sounds like a personal problem to me.
I wish. lol. Actually, I bought my car right off the showroom floor. If I had it my way, I would've customized everything, right down to the last stitch. Honestly, I wasn't even considering a F-type. I was very close to buying a used Ferrari California, but the deal fell through at the last moment. I was driving through town and decided to give my local Jaguar dealership a visit because I heard the brand was on the up and up. I saw my white F-type R in the showroom floor and as they say, the rest is history. I think it was fate.
Well we have certainly established that no one is an "anti-dentite"!That said it seems that the professions vary greatly with this bunch. Of course we all know that only Architects from Vadelay Industries bought Saab's.
I'm guessing RickyJay will chime in shortly!
I'm not a dentist but an Ob/Gyn. BUT, MY dentist, who works in the same building I do, DOES have an F Type S and she is the one who first implored me to look at this car when I decided to sell my 911 turbo! I've only seen 2 other F Types in Eugene, one of them I see daily as it is her DD.
