I think the OP is in South Africa. Hopefully they have consumer protection laws (implied warranties) similar to those in North America and Europe.

A huge thank you to all the forum people for taking an interest. Yes, we have the consumer protection act in South Africa, and my attorney has sent them a letter of demand. The dealer has responded but not with an offer as hoped but instead decided to stand their ground. I have hired an independent assessor to investigate the information on hand and the claims being made by Jaguar. The heartbreaking thing is I fell in love with the car over the 12 days, and not having it in my garage is just terrible. Plus, the amount of time, energy, and thinking that this situation drains from one is enormous.

Kind Regards
Martin

Are we missing something here, dealer drove the car 500 miles with a unclamped hose. 500 miles at 70 mph a 7 Hour drive. Is that possible? When the car experienced a total loss of coolant wouldn’t you immediately smell the coolant and see a trail behind you, not to mention the coolant all over the bottom and tires that would be pretty slippery. I can smell the coolant with a small amount on the hot engine.

Frank , the unclamped hose has just been working itself loose over that time but not come apart yet so that’s why dealer had no issues on his delivery drive
