Default 2015 R TracDSC

Ive been trying to enable TracDSC mode on my 2015 FType R, and either I can't read a manual, or I'm just confused. According to the manual:

To select TracDSC, press and hold the DSC switch for less than 3 seconds. The DSC Off lamp will illuminate and the Message center will briefly display TracDSC.

I don't see any of this notifications anywhere on the message center, no matter how long i hold or flip the Dynamic Mode switch for the life of me. Am I hitting the wrong switch?

I did the same, I also missed the button for it. I'm used to the way it worked it in the XKR

Can anyone explain exactly which nanny features are either turned off or muted in TracDSC? Also what nannies are additionally disabled when DSC is fully turned off. I would prefer not to find out through trial and error. (emphasis on the error)

Ok I spoke too soon. The only thing I can get to appear by pushing the DSC button is DSC ON or DSC OFF. Followed by an icon of a car with squiggly tread marks. No TracDSC icon or text appears anywhere.

So am I missing something?

someone will correct me if I'm off on any of this;

- rain snow mode: maximum interference/traction control

- normal mode: normal traction control

- tracDCS: track mode with minimal traction control

- DCS off; (push and hold button for more than 3 seconds and the dash light will illuminate in red and DCS off message comes up): no traction control and no interference at all.

....at least that's how mine works.

+1.
1. For TracDSC depress the button with the skid marks just momentarily. The yellow "DSC off" warning light will come on, and "TracDSC On" will display for only a few seconds in the display between the 2 primary guages.
2. To turn DSC off entirely, hold down the "skid" button for 3-5 seconds and similarly the yellow warning light will come on and stay on, but the center display will instead say "Warning DSC Off" for just a few seconds before the regular display reappears (whatever you've programmed it to display).

This is the closest I've seen, and it's still lacking:

Bonus: it does explain what dynamic launch does on the V6S.

Ok! Confirmed this time I have gotten TracDSC to appear. I was holding it down too long!

Certainly is lacking, but appears to indicate only that the throttle nanny is completely disabled with TracDSC . So, unless you have TVB, what else is there to be turned off when the DSC is completely shut down? I can't believe they would allow you to disable the ABS.

The ABS stays on but I can't remember if the dampers in a fixed settings.

May have to get a Jag Topix subscription for a day to download some technical documents.

Yes...it is time to go on a holy quest to find out exactly how DSC & TracDSC are each implemented, and what all is shut down when DSC is entirely shut off.

To complicate this, it is very likely that the answer is different depending on installed options: transmission, eDiff, std. LSD, TVB, active suspension, etc.

I agree, a lot of the information is not consistent. If it starts raining this weekend I'll get a Topix subscription for a week and see what I can find.

Someone posted some docs from there for the XKR a few years and they were golden.

Seeing how Lance is retired...

Here's my Dropbox folder of all the technical docs I grabbed when someone else posted them a few years back, plus some other miscellaneous PDFs that I thought might be useful. Worth going through them all. Note these mostly were 2014 docs, so things may/have changed.

FYI, those of you with Dropbox can click on the Dropbox folder I linked, and copy the whole thing into your Dropbox. That's how I got most of these to begin with.

Yep, working just half-time now (works out to only about 35 hrs/week).

Dave, thanks for the data.

Everything is different with LSD.
