2016 f type r, dashboard lights and main lights flashing a lot, any help ??
Hello all I joined a few months ago and have been finding out all new things about my car on this page that has helped massively.
im having trouble with my 2016 F Type R AWD, when I’m driving day or night my whole car will randomly flicker as in the dashboard and lights will turn on and off for 5-10 seconds this will happen for as long as I drive the car randomly and on one occasion it stalled the car, i can’t drive it in the dark as it’s happening a lot now Any help would be great thanks

Or a loose battery cable. I have to admit, I had the same problem once and I found that I hadn't tightened the positive battery cable sufficiently.
I’m not sure about the battery age I don’t want to sound stupid but can you check the age of a battery ??
I was thinking it was the battery but I wanted to just check on hear and write my first post.
im getting the battery checked next Tuesday so I shall let you all know.
thanks Scott

Morning Scott batteries like tires are suppose to marked with the date of manufacture but sometimes it's not that clear looking at the battery.
But as always in modern life it's just not that simple and it depends. What a great answer huh!
So look at this and see the different methods that are used to date code batteries to decode yours.

Absolutely check your battery connections. This is a fairly new to you car? No idea how it was left. They need to be wrench tightly tight tight. Not crazy monster torque tight but you get what I’m saying. Tight. Check the body ground too. Don’t over torque that, it’ll shear.
You (should) have an AGM type battery installed. They are born with 900-1,000 CCA’s. Once they get down around 500 CCA’s all sorts of gremlins can come out play. Requires a kinda special battery checking tool. This is the one they use at the dealership:
I have one because I’m a little nuts about having good tools and I get to use it a lot with peoples dead batteries at the marina.
Lastly, if you are driving the car infrequently you need to use a battery maintainer like a NOCO Genius 1. Driving the car never really gets it up to full charge, as has been discussed (insert dead horse here).

Not only do the connections need to be tight they also need to be clean. Take the terminals off and make sure the connections are clean before you tighten them. If they are dirty clean them.
Hello all, I just want to say thank you for all your input and help I have had a good look at the battery and it is 6/7 years old so I will be buying a new one, also I found that the positive was loose so I have taken both terminals off and cleaned them up and reattached and secured tightly so fingers crossed the loose connection was the problem but I will keep you informed.
thanks Scott

When you buy the new battery, make SURE that it is fully charged before installation. Do not accept a clerk’s statement that the battery is charged, nor a test result of GOOD.
Your problem was most likely a loose connection.

I had the same issue on my 2016 R two weeks ago. Not only was the battery cable loose, when I changed the battery the computer needed to be reset at the dealer as the system was getting all wonky. If you replace the battery, I’d ensure to get a Jaguar appt to ensure the car will behave.
Just my really recent experience…

99.9% it's battery related. when i went to test drive my FtypeR it also flickered all the lights and the infotainment while driving..was more apparent under harder acceleration. Fresh battery swap fixed the issues.
