Default 2016 F Type R - Hard shift - 1st to 2nd

Hello all, first post here looking for some advice:

I bought a used 2016 F Type R in November 2022. I've noticed that, when in manual mode with Sport and Dynamic active, the shift between 1st and 2nd when close to red line is very rough. There's a noticable lag in the shift point, and then a powerful "thump" pushing the car forward when it finally syncs up. The closer you are to redline, the harder the hit. I don't seem to notice anything when I'm driving easy, but that may be because the car usually starts in 2nd gear when you're not pushing it, to my knowledge.

I'm wondering if it's transmission timing, or symptomatic of a larger transmission concern. Anyone else experiencing similar?

If it helps or hinders, the dealership replaced the differential prior to delivery due to metal shavings. I have a warranty of I need work done, but it's third party and they require a bunch of hoops to jump thru, hence crowd sourcing the issue before I decide to take it in. Vehicle has 41k on it, I'm 2nd owner.

Thanks in advance,

Mike

Perfectly smooth gearchange at all times here so I can't provide any relevant experience BUT I suspect a change of trans fluid could fix the problem even though 41k miles is a little early for that.
