Default 2016 Type-R Heated Seat Function Help

Hi everyone,

this is my first post and I am new to the F-Type R world so forgive me if this is. Silly question . In am about to purchase a 2016 F-Type R AWD from a local high end car dealer here In Ontario Canada, and noticed that the temp control knobs did not show the heated seat option and I could not find the function, the car was not running, just in accessory.

the car does have the heated steering wheel and front/ rear defrost options.

Does the car have to be running to see the seat image on the control knobs and to activate the heated seats.

thanks for any help

The temp control knobs are also the seat heat/cool knobs. So you would need to have power when you push the knobs to switch them to seat controls.

If you are buying one, I would ask to be sure, I would not guess or speculate.

On my 2014, I don’t recall a seat graphic. Push the knob in, the rotate it right to show 1-3 small red bars (1 bar is hot enough for me.). Rotate left to turn off (after pushing it.)

Car is in storage so I can’t check if it works in accessory, might not as it draws a fair amount of current.

That is correct.
Press the knob in and rotate one way for heat (red seat) and the opposite way for cold (blue seat, if fitted).
Can't recall left or right rotation for heat but you only have 2 choices!! Anf you do need the ignition on.
Might want to check both sides while you are at it.

If the ignition is not on the display will be blank. If the ignition is on but the climate control is off, you'll see a little seat icon on the top of the display and three red bars will light up as you turn the knob to switch on the heated seats. If the climate control is on, the display will show the seat icon below the temperature, along with "PUSH"
Also, I'm not certain about Canada but in the US, heated seats were standard on the R in 2016.

Thanks for all the advice! The ignition “on” was the solution!
