Default 2018 Jaguar Wild Blueberry Bash

Under the premise that one can't plan things like this too far in advance - although I managed the 2017 Jaguar Lobster Run in less than 3 months - that I just returned from where I would like to kick-things off, but especially to give plenty of notice to Unhingd to not have to attend any wedding...the following are tentative dates to ponder:

August 2, 3, 4, 5
August 9, 10, 11, 12
August 16, 17, 18, 19
August 23, 24, 25, 26
August 30, 31 - September 1, 2
September 6, 7, 8, 9

Wild blueberry season being end of July through mid-September. I'll spare you the details since everything is still very much in flux and still quite early (although I have most of it already mapped out in my head).

Last but not least - and I am certainly not asking for commitments - I envision no less than 10 F-Types and no more than 15; possibly up to 20.

The rest, as they say, is up to you. Feel free to post "whatever" and/or PM me.

Best regards,
Jay

I'll have an answer with all of the dates that work for me within 48 hours. The next niece or nephew asking me to attend a wedding during a Jay Run is out of the will. (Though, I did get into a long hanger & garage talk with Alain Clénet at the last one)

1) auction value of lobster run swag just went up since we're going to need a new logo
2) Dave will have to take the stickers off his car before next summer (maybe)
3) I asked my wife if she would like to attend the "2018 Jaguar Wild Bluebe-..." "YES. I'm there already in my mind."

I'm hoping to wash the car and remove the stickers this weekend. Jay reports they can be hard to remove after a while; I'll use a hair dryer to soften them a bit.

Simply to clarify, while I welcome any and all comments here, the dates I put forth are merely a rough guide to when I think this event might take place and for you to make a mental, or actual, note.

The actual dates are dependent on a number of factors, not least of all when I can make arrangements for one of the surprises I might have in store for you. Once I know a thing or two I can likely narrow down our window and let you know.

As with both past events, it will start late Thursday afternoon and end @ Noon on that Sunday (very likely at my dealership as it has both past years if Scarborough Jaguar/Land Rover will have us.)

And, Nati: I am already working, if nothing more than in my head, on a new logo.

Zee. Tamela was at a red light today and heard the sounds that could only be made by the "Z"......unfortunately it turned out to be a Z07.....

Now as for dates, we would certainly prefer the September date (cause school will have started and it will be less crowded) but the prior ones look fine as well. Count us in, even with the Z option!

September is probably better for me, but the wifey doesn’t know her travel schedule yet.

Expounding ever-so-slightly on [my] post #6:

Wild blueberry season, as noted in my OP, is a rather narrow window - typically and traditionally end of July through mid-September - so my suggested dates revolve first and foremost around that.

The second consideration is predicated on hearing back from someone revolving around his schedule. The "who" and the "what" shall remain a mystery - I wouldn't rack my brain around this if I were you - but the "when" (he'll know) won't be determined until January if not February. So as much as I'd love to hone actual dates of the event, I simply can't.

I suspect that I'll have several Thursday-Sunday dates to offer you all - albeit early 2018 - at which time we might take a straw poll as to what dates work best for the majority of people interested in attending. Hopefully they will coincide with all those wanting to attend.

[re] Food: a thorny issue when it comes to bringing a group of our size to any of my favorite restaurants, and I'm just not gonna go anywhere (nor will I twist friends arms who owns these places beyond a certain point). As with all other details, you'll just have to leave it to me.

P.S. A further glance at my calendar adds August 2, 3, 4, 5 as well as August 30 through Sept 2 as a possibility.

WELL, I can't tell if this is fictional, factual, rough, in flux, thorny, edible, in-season, possible, traditional, wild, a surprise, in my mind, arm-twisting or mental!! Maybe it's all of these...

But I would be happy to serve as dealer-host and do whatever I can to make everyone's trip to Maine a great one. In fact without us it would be a great one with Captain Jay at the helm....and a great one if everyone from this year came back for some more Maine hospitality!

I will write a mental note and wait for the details to unfold.....

Marco, for you the Z option is complementary for the remainder of your life hahahaha

It’s as real as you want it to be Mike. [How’s that for a ZEN response?]

As you can imagine there are quite a number of moving parts to planning all of this but the wheels are already in motion; using an automotive analogy. And while I could do this without any assistance, it simply wouldn’t be the same without you and Scarborough Jaguar/Land Rover at my side.

Just keep in mind - everyone - that I will not be able to whittle down dates until I hear back from someone and that won’t happen until January or possibly February.

Dates pre-September out for us, but let's see what you come up with and will call an "audible" when things firm up.

Getting a kick out of the posts however, Mike...your summary was creative to say the least :-).

Who are you, Joe Namath? (Yes, I am old enough to have seen him play and it was spectacular, at least until the knees gave out).

So already we seem to have a “problem”. You can’t do anything pre-September and Zee can’t do anything post-September. Then again, maybe separating you two - like they used to do in school (and if I know you Joe, they did it to you...just as they did it to me) - might be a good idea.

We’ll just have to see how things, dates, shake out and go from there.

LOL Jay, yes Joe Willie Namath was my hero along with Matt Sneell and the gang. My dad and I watched that super bowl game together in our basement, dad being my best friend ever and one of the greatest NFL games on record. Special to say the least.

Problems are made to be solved, and solving is our middle name, so.....make it my date and "screw Zee". Yes I had many time outs, and separation anxiety along with physically being separated was wrapped around this guys personality and actions, LOL!

We will work it out and the proof is in "ZEE" answer!
