LED headlights look a bit busy, but then again, hard to tell what they may ultimately look like with the camo:

Intel was working with Jaguar on lights tied to specialized optical sensor that would rapidly blink (too fast for the eye to see) and make both rain and snow nearly invisible. LEDs worked fast enough, HIDs not so much. I wonder if this is the first car to have that feature? I saw the demo, I got how it could do rain, but the fact that it would also cut through snow was nothing short of magical.

Other than the headlights it doesn't look much different to me...

A lot of body roll on that car (pics 7 & 8). Mouth seems a bit smaller and less aggressive than the current cars, but that may be an illusion caused by the camo.

It looks like an SVR front bumper with camp tape over the vents?

I still think they got the car right the first time. Every tweak up and update seems to just make the car look fatter and less sleek. The wider and body colored side sills, body colored rear defuser, all make the car appear fatter. And now a fatter center bar? Pretty sure zero people have requested that. It is starting to look more and more like the XK now in the front.

Will have to wait to see it without the camo to really decide.

I think Audi messed with the orginal S5 until it didn't seem as special as the first generation. Did you see they are talking about a 4 cylinder version?

OK I've merged a couple of threads on this same subject, let's make this thread the general discussion on the 2018MY F-Type, any news or updates, put them in this thread.

Cambo,
You could sticky this thread and drop the Lobster Run from the sticky. It'll stay naturally active as long as it needs to. I'm certain the next gen F-Type will remain of interest to many.

Also, would be nice if you could have maintained issues thread, where first post is edited with references/links to relevant threads. Like clutch issue.

i've yet to drive a car with LED headlights that provide better output than a good HID/Projector setup - even the best systems are still a solid 1/3 down on lumens output

but i understand it's marketing 101 these days to have LED headlights for the 0.0001% gain in efficiency

i just swapped out the oem bulbs for philips ultinon, and even at 6000k with less lumens than 4300k bulbs, it's still producing a stronger and wider beam pattern than the current gen LEDS on my Audi

now if Jag put the new 10" pro touch screen in the f-type, than my parts guy is going to be busy putting that retro together - that screen is a game changer

Glad I got in when I did. I have a feeling that Jaguar is going to "F" up this car from here on out. Every design change since the original has been a step in the wrong direction.

Hate the single exhaust. Though right now, 2 vs. 4 is about the only reliable way I know to tell the V6 from the V8.

+1.. For what wanted in an F-type, I feel like I lucked out ordering the 2016 when the 6sp mt.becme available. 2016 is the sweet spot year for my wants and needs.

Yes, but the single exhaust seem to be for the planned 4-banger, new entry-level F-Type, which will be a new Ingenium engine. So when that appears, you'll be able to distinguish between the 4, 6, and 8.
