The MY2019 arrived in the configurator !!! At least there are lots of new colours for SVO in shine and gloss..

Rio Gold satin gloss € 7500,-

.

Velocity Blue Satin gloss

..last-but-not-least.. the difference between "Ultra Blue" and "Velocity Blue" does almost not seem to exist in the configurator. No wonder I missed that there was a second colour metallic blue around...
Ultra blue is € 1150 and velocity blue € 7500 in Europe...

Default Production Castle Bromwhich down..

.. This change is happening because output at Castle Bromwich, which builds Jaguar models, has fallen as demand for new cars has fallen....

1+1= 2 .... So 'Castle Bromwhich' is not exclusively for F-Types manufacturing.. ..[anymore?].

@mShedden. Indoors the colour isn't really recognisable. From what I have seen all the blue shades looks far darker indoors..

I'm sure that's true, I've also seen an Ultra Blue F-Type on the road and many photographs and I'm still not sure what it really looks like, sometimes it looks really light, other times it looks dark.

This:

or this?

The short answer is YES, it looks like both of those pictures. The lighter color is when not in shade and not able to see the metallic application clearly usually when viewed @ 90 degree (e.g. straight on) angle. The darker is when looked at from any other angle where you can see the metallic finish or if in even a bit of shade. It's a sharp color that my wife says screams LOOK AT ME blue. Ultra blue was my first choice but none were available in an R at the time I was buying so my 2nd choice became my 1st choice.

Castle Bromwich builds XE XF and XJ in one facility and FTYpes in a separate building. There’s a few less robots on the ftype line, it runs a bit slower and according to the guide they consider the ftype “hand built”. I did the half-day factory tour a few months ago. Well worth it if you get the opportunity to be in the area. Bookable via the JLR website.

@Kdes
Thanks for the info ! This summer first [planning now] a tour through the Alps with my 18yrs son.

Then, if we sell our 2nd home in Portugal, next year a tour of UK with my wife, and a "family visit" of my FT to his "cradle" ..

@malbec. Thanks, I downloaded the video. When we bought the car I suggested my son we'd go together to do a factory tour. He wasn't very interested since he'd seen robots building cars on youtube.
So we went to the Nürnberg Ring and did a tour with Dale Lomas in the XJ SVR V8, this was a blast and a laugh ! Very advisable. Its not very expensive and you can go with three people...

@Dan_NL
When I did the tour I was surprised at relatively little the robots did in the overall assembly. As you’ll see in the video there’s a lot of hands on work going on.

That's the only version I like enough to consider a MY18+. That's the R, correct? Not the R-Dynamic?

That’s the R-dynamic. Dual exhaust, not quad.

We're referring to different pics. I was asking about the white one with the bars across the front side vents. After a bit of digging I'm pretty sure it's the R, not R-Dynamic.
