2019 F-Type R
I just got back from the local Jag dealer having signed the paperwork for a 2019 F-Type R in BRG. Less than 4,500 km.
They are encouraging me to get them to apply ceramic coating. Is this worth doing?
Haven’t yet taken possession so no other questions at this time. I will certainly get involved in discussions, etc., as I get a chance to get to know the car.
Thanks

I wouldnt get it done at the dealers, usually what they put on isnt much better than a decent synthetic wax, and they will charge you as though it is a really good product.
A really good product (which involves a full paint correction even on a relatively new car, and a few days at least at the applicators) comes up fantastic but it has to be maintained to keep the warranty. I have been tempted to get mine done, but in the end it was too much faffing about. I had my daughter's car done at the dealers, really I think it was piddling money away. It took a few hours max.
These days I am getting incredible results at home using "wipe on wipe off" products which would cost maybe $150 a year. It takes maybe 2 - 3 hours once a year for a clay, polish, and wax and then a 5 minute top up spray wax every few months, minimal effort and the car always looks like new. Personally I wouldnt bother with the ceramic coating but then I quite like waxing mine.

When I purchased mine from the dealer they pressed for the ceramic as well. Little did they know that the prior owner had kept all their paperwork within the owners manual - even finance papers! As I was doing the cursory inspection and look around is when I found it. And the prior owner had already paid for ceramic at the time of purchase a year prior!

Agreed if you get it done to this at a specialty shop. I had mine ceramic coated along with the rims and calipers. I also enjoyed waxing my cars and this is the first car I had ceramic coated. I love the outcome and it was done about 4 months ago. It looks amazing. Congrats on the new purchase.
