Agreed, I love my shark gills on the front

I prefer to more "classic" look of the headlights on the 2020. I could have bought either year when I got my 2020. I do however, wish I had the digital dash from the 2021 model.

We've got the digital dash in our XE, and while I like it I really I wouldnt want it in the F Type. It is nice and pretty handy (currently running normal dials with Nav in between) but it is flat with no texture, I think a bit vanilla for a sportscar or a muscle car and lacks a bit of texture or feel. It's more what I would expect to find in an Audi version of a sportcar. Getting from one car to the other, I think that the pronounced curves around the dials suits the F Type better, so does the placement of the digital readout at the top, so you dont need the HUD that we have in the XE as well.

That said, it is a nice setup, and the graphics are excellent.

I put my 2018 in between a 2017 and a 2021 at the dealer. All three are drop dead gorgeous. My 2018 has the LED headlights. The 2017 had the round lights. To me the 2021 looks more plain, but the headlights are more menacing. Love the black badges on the 2021. My favorite was the 2017 front end. I like the headlight look and the gills better. Would I trade mine for one or the other? Nope. Minor differences just add variety. Any way you have it, its still a beauty.

2018-2020 model is perfect imo

The lines of the car were designed around the original headlight shape, and the 2018 facelift modernized it w/o changing the overall character of the car

I actually was originally planning on buying a 21 cause I do think they look great, but when I went to actually buy it and saw it in person I realized it just wasn't the F-Type I originally fell in love with.

So I got a CPO for half the price and am pretty happy I did.

plus, worst case, I decide I want one and just trade mine in next year after somebody else drove it a few thousand miles and took the depreciation hit for me.

I saw my first of the new shape in the wild today, it was dark blue with black pack and looked absolutely fantastic. Much meaner than the previous shape, really it is like a completely different car. looks much better out and about with the lights on than sitting on a dealership floor.

I suppose that you guys from the US have had muscle cars forever so the new shape might not float your boats, but to me the update is insanely good, but different good. Both versions can exist and be enjoyed without upsetting the other.

Personally I think the update is going to look better in dark colours, going with its more sinister look.

Surely the sinister look would only apply to LHD versions?
