Default 2nd 2017 ftype much quieter than first??

Just bought my second ftype after putting nearly 80k miles on my first. Both are 2017, v6, and basically the same car. My second car is significantly quieter than the first was. The first had a noticeable difference when I opened/closed the exhaust. When closed, it was quiet and civil for highway cruising or late night returns to my neighborhood. When open, it was aggressive, screamed on full throttle acceleration and crackled loudly on overrun. My 2nd one is kind of always civil. It still crackles, but quietly. It still sounds OK on hard acceleration, but nothing like my first one. I even pulled the fuse for the exhaust valve to keep it from closing. That didn't help. Any ideas?

The notorious K309 (IIRC) update neutered the exhaust on a number (but not all) earlier cars. Think they did something similar on later cars. Some folks got the VAP tune to get the pops and crackles back.

By now, there were 2 rounds of patches to make F-type quieter. If dealer got their hands on the earlier car and patched, then the car will have almost no noise.

Its also possible there's something wrong and the valves are never opening.
