To further clarify; 14MY and 15MY verts with a V8 were labeled "V8S" and received the S badge. You can't get a RWD vert "R" in the U.S.

As Stohlen says; all 2014 V8's are V8S's as are 2015 convertibles

Or to put it another way; JLR completely screwed up the badging/naming on the F type so this helps:

- quad exhaust = V8
- dual exhaust = V6
- single exhaust = 4 cyl.

Jaguar really have made a dogs dinner of the naming conventions in a remarkably short period. Even F Type owners can get confused as to what configuration an S or R is.

To answer your original question: yes, you're confused.

First year all supercharged models received the S, that is a V8S pictured.

"Is this abnormal, or am I confused?"

I was thinking you probably meant "Is this confusing, or am I abnormal?"

No/yes on the first, yes/yes on the second.

I love Idioms. So this guy Flula, from Germany, who makes fun of America ones? It's endless entertainment for me.

A little from column A, a little from column B.
