Default Air Conditioner shuts off while driving

I bought my 2016 R coupe a year ago with an extended warranty. I brought it in because the A/C would just shut off for no apparent reason while I'm driving. Instead of cold air, I'd get warm air. I tried pushing buttons and changing temperature settings but usually no luck. Then just as it shut down, it would return to normal only to fail again an undetermined time later. The dealer determined it to have a "Direct Pressure Sensing Valve" failure and replaced it under warranty. Now I should add that I had other issues and as a result, the car was at the dealership for over a month after which time I didn't need the A/C until this summer. Also, since I have several cars I really didn't use it that much but when I did, I found that the A/C issue was not resolved. The problem is my extended warranty has expired so I may be forced to find a fix on my own. Has anyone else had this or a similar problem? Is there any way I can still claim this as a warranty issue since it was not resolved while under warranty?

If you have documented evidence of the fault during the warranty period you should have a good case to get it fixed under that warranty as a pre-existing fault. I'm surprised you didn't at least check the A/C when you got the car back.

Is the fix itself not under warranty? Or has that run out as well?

Thanks, I'll check into it. Also, I did check the A/C as soon as I got it back and I have used the car off and on since. The problem is that I never know when it is going to fail and I can't just re-create it at will. But as Newton's Law predicts, anything that can go wrong, will go wrong and at the worst possible time.

Hmmm, I don't know. The "fix" was done in October of 2021 and the warranty expired shortly after that. ( in response to mcphill)

Mr. Murphy claims infringement.

You're under a year, I would at least check with whoever "fixed" it before.
