Default AMG GT Debut

Thoughts?

2016 Mercedes-AMG GT: This Is It

Anybody not get an F-Type yet, waiting to see the AMG GT? Pricing still not out, but most likely sandwiched between a 911 Turbo and F-Type R.

I love the sound of the SLS, the front end and the theatrics with the gullwing doors. The back though looks like ***, no pun intended. This GT looks good from the front as well but that drooping slop from the roof to the back just looks off. The F-type coupe is a much sexier shape, especially in profile.

I was considering a used SLS at one time since prices have dropped quite a bit on launch years. I'm glad to be going with the R.

Now we need to see some performance numbers.

Its proportions look odd to me. It doesn't have anything that stands out as defining creases and looks bulbous from the side with droopy headlights. That's odd to me because they look in perfect proportion from the front. There is also way too much 911 in the roofline and rear from the side view. It looks like it is trying way too hard to wedge between the F-Type and 911 and the two of them stand well on their own as both wholly unique.

From this angle it definitely looks like a 911

Reminds me a bit of the Viper too. I like the odd proportions of the SLS, so we'll see about the AMG GT. I can definitely seeing this stealing some sales from the 911.

I've been keeping an eye on this car for a while now. I've been considering picking one up but I think I'll wait until the black-series model. It would be to supplement the F though, not replace it.
