Default Parking Lot Attendant

2014 F-Type V6....I was pulling into a parking lot at a college football game and the attendant says "I'm going to need to see your parking pass and keys please, sir." I responded, "Oh, I didn't know this was valet parking." Without blinking an eye, he looks right at me and says "It's not." 😂😂

EG: NO. ITALIAN CAR. ONE WITH ANIMAL.

ME: Lamborghini??

EG: NO!

Me: Ferrari?

EG: YES, FERRARI! WHAT YOUR CAR COST? 200K?

ME: About 110k

EG: YOU KNOW I AM ISRAELI. MY FATHER WAS IN AUSCHWITZ. HE NEVER HAD ANYTHING NICE IN HIS LIFE. HE HAD SAYING THOUGH. ENJOY IN GOOD HEALTH! I SAY TO YOU ENJOY IN GOOD HEALTH! ALSO YOU LADY FRIENDS (was with my gf and another couple) VERY PRETTY! ENJOY IN GOOD HEALTH!

Had my F type and loving every second.

Normally don't like to show off but was walking upto it from a distance and noticed a few kids staring at it. Decided to turn it on using the remote control.

The FEAR in their eyes as the car turned on by itself.

Was very awkward as I got in and sped off...

And after about a year and a half worth of app updates it now works 80% of the time! Well done JLR.

Yep, Chinese ambassador to UK had to complain to JLR that Red Army wasn't able to reliably remotely start your F-type. So they finally fixed it.

No issues at all with my app. Works perfectly unless I have weak 3g...

I keep thinking, not that they technically *can*, but what if they did put a remote start on our MT?

"Whhhoooooopsies. Yes, that one was in gear".

The sort of pie we might have during the 2018 Jaguar Wild Blueberry Blast?
LOL this is great.

I searched google and didn't think twice about it, but now realize this is more likely a full dinner cost at a restaurant?

There's a neutral switch on the MT for the ECO logic. That could also be used for the auto start safety lockout.

The $23k Dodge I rented last week had a remote start on the fob; made me jealous; again. Having to fire up an APP and go through screens to start, blah. My F-type 2015 has the option, but I say blah.

Sitting in my F taking a break, parked in an almost empty restaurant parking lot. Family comes out of restaurant easing along to their car. Their 2 boys ages ~ 8 & 11 spot my F. They stop in their tracks, kind of hunker down and look intently at the F. I step out and say if it is OK with parents, they can come and have a closer look. Dad says OK. Boys break the world speed record for 100' dash and look upon the F with the greatest joy and admiration you have ever seen. They circled and circled it. Dad and Mom eased over as I showed the boys a few details on the car. The youngest boy asked if I could start it. Oh yeah baby! I fired it up and those boys went nuts!

Dad thanked me for showing the car to the boys and said that this will be the highlight of a very expensive weekend in New Orleans it cost him nothing!

It never ceases to amaze me that the target market for this car is seemingly young boys. They're building brand loyalty at at the age of between 4 and 7.

My other car is a 95 Jeep Wrangler, so I have young boy's dream cars, with no attractive opposite gender of appropriate age ever looking once, let alone twice. LOL

I will say some of the cutest interactions have been the two or three times that I've actually scene British kids on holiday in San Francisco. Of course the way they say jaguar is just adorable, but it's like they're acting as if part of their country is physically and literally in front of them. It's cool to see the Brits relationship to the auto manufacturer, not just the car.

That is a great point Uncle! You are right. I fell in love with the E Type in the early 60's. Had all the matchbox cars in my collection. I was 8-10 years old and had to have a Jag!

Now I've got it!

I can certainly understand as I was born not far from Castle Bromwich and the main Jaguar plant. I can remember always looking at any Jaguar that passed by and knowing I would have them one day.

Perhaps the connection with many British people is the fact that the Castle Bromwich factory used to produce the Supermarine Spitfire, which can still produce an emotional reaction for some who visit.

I do still cringe when some Americans call the cars a 'jag-wire'...

That was a hard habit to break. Took me months. Said it wrong my whole life.

I record a bunch of dashcam and road trips via different cameras. I post some on Youtube, A Youtuber commented on one in Yellowstone. He asked what car that was, thinking it was either a corvette or F-Type. I said he got the F-Type right, and it's a fun way to take in that scenery.

He said:

"Sure, its about scenery. But if you happen to navigate scenery in a car that sounds like Satan at the dentist then it's about the car too."
