Default Anybody change rear speakers in F-Type

Hi
I have changed all speakers out for the F-Type R successfully. Thanks to Cambo!

Has anybody invaded the rear and modified speakers accordingly. They are now the weak point of my system without question!

Thanks

No, not the rears. Changed all the others thanks to Cambo, Paul Calvert, Jeremy Gold and other forum members . Cambo made some suggestions but there doesn't seem to be any easy plug and play option that is as easy.

The only reference for upgrading the rear speakers I have is the one I already showed you in the other thread.

Audison AV 3.0 midranges (70mm) and Ampire Bold6 Subs

The Audison seems to be available worldwide but the Ampire subs are only available from Germany that I can find.

The problem with the subs is that they are dual voice coil, there's two channels going to each sub. I haven't been able to find another manufacturer that makes 6.5" subs in a dual voice coil.

You can get them from eBay Germany with international shipping, the shipping cost is a bit steep, but the subs themselves are relatively cheap comparatively speaking...

Cambo, I went back and looked at your previous post on this. There was a statement from the owner of the car you quoted about some amp filtering of the original subwoofer speakers. Do you know what was meant by that statement in regards to performance?

Was the mod done on a coupe or convertible?

Looks like around $400 for the 4 speakers shipped to USA.

You mean "I was wondering that the sound quality now is so good as the amplifier has filtered outputs for the original speakers but it sounds very good with this combination of high quality speakers."

This car (a convertible) was originally the 380W Meridian, and he'd pulled out the factory amp replacing it with a Mobridge DA3 interface and some aftermarket amplifiers, later on he changed to the factory 770W Surround amplifier, getting rid of the Mobridge and the aftermarket amps, we reprogrammed the car to work with the Surround amp.

So the comment is about the filtering in the factory amp vs. the previously installed aftermarket system.

Thanks Cambo. Do you know of any way to adjust how much input goes to which speakers? In surround mode the center dash seems to dominate the door speakers and in stereo the center dash receives no input.

Also how challenging was it ti change out the subwoofer and midranges behind the seats?

No there is no control over individual speakers via software in this system. In theory it would be possible to attenuate the centre speaker by putting in a pad circuit, but it would need a bit of testing to fine tune.

Installing the subs & rear mids should be no problem for a half-decent car audio installer, or even a capable DIYer, half the battle is just getting the trim panels out (which is a pain in the convertibles, probably less hassle in a coupe).

Hi Cambo

After changing all speakers in my doors I will also change these rear speakers. Unfortunately I didn't manage to get out the speaker panels ( Convertible ) .
But as I will have a service in two weeks, I will ask them to take these speaker panels out.
I will probably just change the subs with these Ampire Bold 6
As these require two channels, do you perhaps remember the colour of the cables and how you have connected them or even have a picture from the back of your speakers ?

Thank you
