So I’m listening to my stereo the other day and I’m thinking "Man, this sounds really left heavy" I checked the speakers and found that both of the rear midrange drivers are toast and the front passenger speaker is done too. After inspecting what the problem is, i found that they are susceptible to water damage running down from the window and hence eventually get water on the voice coils and then they fry. Poor design? no... not Jaguar.. ;-)

Anyway, I have the alpine drivers with the neodymium magnets (the blue ones) I absolutely need one but would like to replace the back too if the cost is reasonable.

Could I buy the adapters and get some aftermarkets? Sure.. But I like they way the alpines sounded with the HF drivers and my aftermarket sub. Plus I'm hoping to save a little money.

Best I've found so far is one on ebay that after shipping would be about $50. Seems a little high but I have been known to be cheap...

Thanks!

if you go over to the audio video forum here there are a ton of guys that have replaced all 4 mid drivers with a plethora of different type speakers. All reportedly better than stock.

Try crutchfield stshots, I just ordered all my gear from them, and got free shipping. When it comes to car stereo, you may end up spending more in the short term messing around with used equipment like that. Just my thoughts.
