Default Trunk lid opening

Is the trunk lid suppose to raise up any or just unlatch when you use the remote. It cost 80 bucks for new lift shocks

Mine just unlatches also. I thought that it was interesting that it didn't go up on it's own.

Have an 03 Stype and it unlatches and raises on its own most of the time. Once in awhile it seems to get stuck, after the latch unlocks and doesn't raise on it's own. It kinda acts like the rubber seal around the trunk is a bit sticky and keeps it from raising. But the struts usually raise it slowly. It's cool when it works!

gragner, my X-Type has never had the boot open on its own like you are thinking. I always have to lift it up.

So my next question is does somebody make a strut that will lift the trunk lid?
