Default Anyone able to help out track by VIN?

After much "discussion" with my local dealer, I have been told there is no way for them to know which ship my new F-Type is on. I know there are several on the forum that have been able to obtain this info from their dealer so I am not sure what the issue is. I have tracked several vehicles over the years and this just seems nuts to me. I have the VIN and it has been built and shipped to the port.
Does anyone here have the ability to find out what ship she is on using a VIN number for me?

And yes, I have tried using the VIN on many of the actual shipping sites (Hoegh, NYK, Wallenius) with no results. I know how to use the ship tracking sites, but just need to know what ship it is on.

Signed an anxious soon to be F-Type owner-

Have you tried contacting Jaguar directly, going around the dealer?

thanks kb58 for the suggestion. I did reach out to Jaguar USA the other day and they said they couldn't help me.

Strange that your dealer is unable to obtain that information. My local dealer is realtively small compared to many others I've seen and even they could tell me what ship my '22 R was on.

Try doing a Google search on the VIN.

Years ago I was waiting for another make of car to be built. I could not get any info anywhere. A Google search on the VIN provided all the information I needed.

Thanks cpq100. I have tried Google, Bing, yahoo and a bunch of other search engines and while the vehicle VIN does come up it only shows the specifics of the build, nothing about status, location, etc.

thanks KalamazooJag- I know it is a bit crazy to me as I have ordered other vehicles with no issue. I have a suspicion that it is a policy for the dealer so they can then seem to "under promise and over deliver". However, if this is a policy I think they seriously underestimate their clients wants.

Unfortunately, sometimes when a car hits the US, it then needs some final updates etc, so it might not leave the port promptly.

Thanks DJS,
I completely understand how some items might need to be done at the port and customs, etc and it does take time. Yet not knowing the vessel is odd to me.
