Anyone ever driven/owned an Alpha 8c?
If so how does the handling compare to the F-type? I came across some old reviews and it seems like it had some the characteristics of the F-type. Although it seems the majority of the reviews were on the negative side. Beautiful car though.

I imagine it probably would be pretty similar. Based on the time I've spent in the Giulia Quadrifoglio, that car is also quite similar to a RWD F Type R as well; minus the two extra doors part. Alfa's DNA from a driving standpoint is very similar to that of the F Type. I doubt many people have driven the 8C however because so few were made, and only for certain markets.
The 8c is a re-bodied Maserati Gran Tourismo. I would assume that it would drive very similar. It is one of the most beautiful cars ever made and I am in the hunt for a red one. So far I seem to be always too late or the asking price is way too high. Only 90 cars made it the USA so they can be hard to find. I have found 2 in Canada that came up for sale over the past 3 - 4 years. I missed both.

How did you drive the Giulia? That looks like and amazing car.... I want it!
I am the lead NAFTA test engineer for that vehicle. Endless seat time.
Nice. Want to adopt me? Or pass the car on when your done testing it

Glad you identified yourself. I'm actually quite interested in the Quadrifoglio model, as our next "family" car.
It's amazing how fast the G went around the ring and I'm looking forward to its release.
As for the 8C, I've never heard of the car so I googled it.... Beautiful car but it's so rare that it would trouble me for readability and parts, not to mention cost. The 4C looks like a fun car though.

The F-Type is still far better looking.
So is it true the car failed all three crash tests, and do you anticipate the weight will change to competitor-like levels once the issues are addressed?
I think the car looks like a Saturn solstice
While we're spell-checking: "Alfa 8C".
Now. If I were a chassis engineer looking to tailor a particular car to the US market, should I be listening to the marketing consultant's talk on customer expectations while noting the test engineers (horrified) assesment of what constitutes "roads" in much of the US, or focus on how to make the car ride and handle on said roads while setting fire to the marketing consultant?
My impression from several rentals is to buy a few cans of gas...

yep have an 8c spider in the collection
tbh never driven it hard enough to make a definitive comparo, but from the surface is does have a similar euro hot rod feel to the f-type with the loud crackling v8, long hood sitting over rear wheels feel. trans is old school semi manual, but it's one of the better ones.
i too have read the 8C wasn't popular in the US, and it was built in most part as a halo car for the brand to return to US, but it proved to be way too expensive
if you have a good look at the car, you can see why, the whole body, even the full interior, is all carbon fibre, dash, door trims, tub etc, with real turned alu switchgear and designer leather. it's a piece of art more than an outright sportscar. it was a limited production too, 500 coupes and 500 spiders

I will say that I am considering buying one for myself as a daily driver. I really enjoy what this car is all about, and what the design team engineered into the car, and the things they left out as well. I've put a lot of work into the car and were going to be very competitive with the other vehicles in this class. As for its quickness, i'll let the ring times speak for themselves.
