Default Auto High Beam Assist retrofit

I recently added homelink to my car by purçhasing a rear view mirror that had the three home link buttons on the bottom of the mirror. It was relatively easy to swap this with the existing mirror. However there is a big difference in the mirrors as the replacement mirror seems to have a camera on the bottom. I believe this is for the high beam assist. So the question to all you knowledgeable folks, do I now have auto high beam assist, assuming I get the CCF file changes, or is there issues with things like wiring ?

I have this feature on my car and used it only once. Are you driving a lot at night on a rural roads?

We have this feature on our LR4 and the F type and we find it very helpful in night driving when on highways and less populated roadways.

I have AHB, Auto-On Lights, and Auto-Wipers deployed at all times. All work perfectly when needed and not needed. Never even think about wipers and lights anymore. Real nice, but not a necessity.

I tried AHB when I first got the car but found it wasn't as fast as I'd like on some of my regular roads. There are some blind corners where an oncoming car doesn't get detected until it's in full view of the camera, so gets a moment of high beams, where I can see the indirect light ahead of time and dip then in anticipation.

Auto-wipers are great though. The only thing I fiddle with there is the sensitivity, and only when it's heavy fog or light mist. Perhaps also because I need to fiddle with *something*.

Once you've got the mirror hardware fitted it's just a CCF change to get it working.

Gawwwwwd, I love my AHB. I never knew I had it until I turned into a dark road.

@ topic starter: Hi Paul, did you buy the rear view mirror that had the three home link buttons on the bottom of the mirror new at a dealership or 2nd hand?
@ all: Is it possible to fit one from an other recent Jag model?

Is it just a case of wiring the mirror in and then enabling auto high beam in the CCF file? No programming the HCM separately?

It was second hand off eBay. No wiring needed, just plug in, get the CCF updated and you're away!

does this mean if I have a 2020 Prestige FPace with homelink mirror that I - too - could have Auto High Beam Assist enabled through programming?

Another vote in favour of the auto high beam. It mostly works very well and on dark, poorly lit roads (especially rural), it reduces the stress of driving imo. I was very happy to find it was a feature on my car.

Have auto hi beam on both cars. Another of those things you never knew you wanted and now would not live without!
