Default Autogespot Storm grey

I've been using Autogespot recently, excellent for seeing different colour and wheel combinations.

Does anyone please know, is this storm grey?

Looks excellent whatever it is - i'd written off the silver turbines but they look great with that grey colour.

Hello,

this colour seems to be stratus grey.

That is Stratus Grey.

Storm Grey wasn't available until the 2016 model year.

Thank you....I should have picked up on that.

The pics look great, especially with those silver turbines.

I guess storm grey would look fairly similar

The wheels in your OP are "Tornadoes." These are "Turbines."

Thank you, that was a typo on my part.

Speaking of colours, does anyone please know are these both sapphire blue?

I'm about to confirm my order i think now for Sapphire Blue and i just want to check that all the pics I've been looking at aren't some discontinued colour! Sapphire Blue is supposed to be quite dark i thought.

These are photos of my Storm Grey '16 R Coupe.

In a shaded environment, Storm Grey is a little lighter than Stratus Grey. However, it is a lot more reflective. It draws in color from its environment and varies in shade quite a bit depending on the lighting conditions.

Hi MI-FType, I read somewhere on the forums that the painted parts of the gyrodyne wheels is in fact storm grey. Since you have a storm grey car with gyrodynes I thought maybe you would be a good person to ask if this was true! Also, i would not mind your opinion if you would be willing to give it. I just purchased a base, convertible in ultimate black metallic. I have it scheduled to go in to have all the matte pieces (rear valance, font diffuser, front bumper bar, etc...) and all the chrome bits painted in gloss black just like on the black pack optioned cars. But I just got a set of gyrodynes like yours and I started considering doing all the chrome bits (side vents, front grill ring, maybe also the emblems) in storm grey instead of gloss black to sort of bring the wheels and the car together and to add a small amount of color so the vents/lines are not completely lost into the black of the car. Since you have the color and I have never seen it first hand, do you think the chrome bits would look good in storm grey or would they be too bright? I think it would look pretty similar to the new f-type 400 sport in black, the way they made those pieces match the dark wheels they put on the car. Thanks in advance for your opinion and info on the gyrodyne paint color. Great looking car you've got there!

Unccoda... thanks for the compliments.

To answer your questions... I don’t think the grey on the gyrodynes is storm grey. The wheels are a little more “ashy” colored and don’t have as much depth. My opinion on painting the bits... going all gloss black is going to give you the monochrome, “murdered out look” which is great if that’s your thing. Storm hints at so many different shades; because of its reflective character I’m not sure how it would look against the black... black compliments storm, but I am not sure if the reverse would be true. Personally, I’d go with carbon fiber, or a carbon fiber wrap to add some texture and contrast. I’ve seen carbon fiber against ultimate black in photos and think it compliments really well.

They are closer than I thought in sunlight, although I think stratus grey tends to look more "black" in most lighting situations.
