What the hell is going on!

I called them because I'm nosy, and the sales guy didn't know anything about it.

 

I'm actually flying into ATL next Friday morning (on my way to The Masters) - I may have to take a slight detour on my way to Augusta.

 

Hennessy Jaguar Northpoint just north of Atlanta.

This is also the smallest dealer in the Atlanta area - it wouldn't surprise me if Hennessy Jaguar Gwinnett or Hennessy Jaguar Atlanta have an AWD R.

 

Looks like they accidentally listed the 2016 AWD S as a 2016 convertible. But if you click on your link and click on new inventory you can find it there.

 

Now I'm wondering why no one has gotten in touch with me about mine.

 

There are 5 - 2016 F Type R coupes on cars.com. Newly listed and no pictures yet.

 

Dealers will often list vehicles that they don't have yet.

 

Here is one with pictures. Note MSRP is $103,600. Since Pano roof is standard now (was $1200 option), it looks like the AWD is $3400 more.

Just noticed hood and hood vents are different on the AWD. I think I like those vents better than mine.

It would appear the first in first out rule didn't apply then...

 

I got a call yesterday saying my car has been released with the delivery date of 4/7. As before, I did not take this very seriously but this does seem to confirm that they are now moving. The question still remains as to why these cars were on hold, however I don't ever expect to get a definitive answer.

I would like to believe that the cars that have already been ship were pre-sold and in queue before mine. Couldn't have been too many!

 

Could also be that many of the dealers just don't want people to know they have '16s in stock so that they move out the 15's first as Stohlen made reference to. Cecil..........

 

I doubt that's the care. My dealer already sold me the car, why would they hold off on telling me about it. They aren't gonna sell me a 16.

I spoke with Jaguar Customer service at lunch and their contact "was unaware any vehicles had been shipped to dealers" and I still don't have an estimated date of arrival.

 

Still need to see the 16s in person. Visually,

- new hood louvre positions
- matching side rocker color panel
- colored rear valence/diffuser
- slightly higher ride height

the first 3 i might like better than the 15s...

 

Personally I don't care for the cosmetic differences, but then again they aren't big enough to bother me either.

What I find exciting about the 16s are:
- Better infomatics with built-in telematics
- AWD
- Stiffer springs on the R.

Still not sure if it is enough to justify upgrade.

 

...as well as extended factory warranty & maintenance.

 

I really don't like them either - That's the main reason I ordered a dark color (dark sapphire).

 

Interesting.... no charge for IRR paint. that was a premium last year.
