Default Best locations for GoPro adhesive mounts?

I'm taking my R Coupe for a track day on Wednesday courtesy of SCCA TrackNightInAmerica program (I think this is exceptional value for money for track time!).

I've fit a GoPro adhesive mount behind the rear view mirror under the big box that has sensors. This gives the view of the bonnet and the road outside which is great. In addition I want to fit one more just behind the seat so that I can get a view of the outside road along with a part of the dash and steering wheel. However, the biggest blocker for this setup is the rear view mirror (which everyone complains is so small but in this context its too big and blocks most of the frame).

I've stuck 3 GoPro adhesive mounts: 1) On the headliner just where the glass roof pull on shade ends at the rear. 2) In front of the big storage between the seats. 3) On the flat surface behind the seats.
None of these provide a good view or at least a view that I am looking for. Anyone know if it is possible to move the rear view mirror vertically up?

yea, i've mounted in those position and the rear view mirror blocks things too much. I'd probably it on the outside for a different angle...

I think if there was some good way to close the big storage area between the seats, then the height of that would likely be ideal. But short of creating something custom to close it temporarily AND make it stable enough to not rattle the mounted GoPro, I just don't see any alternative in the interior.

Anything in the middle will have most of the view blocked by the rearview mirror. I've hung a gopro with a suction cup mounted to the moon roof before.

Your best bet is to get something from the side angled slightly across, or from the exterior.

I would think (as LynxFX says) a suction cup mounted to the glass (moon) roof, aproximately where the passengers head would have been, might be a good place - as long as you are not driving with a co-pilot.

You can also see what kind of settings in the GoPro will give the best result (field of vision) - depending on how much of the drivers position/steeringwheel etc you would like to get in the Picture.

+1 on suction cup mounts. Love them, much more versatile than adhesive. This is 4 camera setup. Front, rear, driver side and passenger inside-outside view:

The problem with suction mounts is for each such mount, I should find a place to tether it and then actually tether it. Else the event management wont allow.

I don't plan on having any on the exterior as I have only 2 and want to use one with driver + steering view and another with out the windshield view. May be use a phone for rear view from inside the car - but I suppose most of it will get blocked by the leaper!

I feel videos that provide views of both road right in front of the car and the sky together are hard to watch give me a headache. So looking to keep the views near about what a typical driver/passenger would see.

Having a little drone hover over your car is an altogether different idea - but those are not allowed yet!
