Default Best way to block off hood vents?

I have a 2016 jaguar f type s. I'm sure many of you are aware that there is a defect which lets water rest on the engine bay and rust the **** out of the engine.

That happened to me and my injectors were seized in place due to this and now I want to cover them up and protect my engine bay.

What did you guys do? Buy a fake vent? Or just tape the underside off or something?

I would like to take care of this problem immediately, my entire engine is rusty as **** now and it only has 40k miles. What a damn shame. Wish I knew about all this before purchasing the car

Hmmm….has the engine cover been removed? While many (myself included) remove the cover to lower the engine temperature, it may not be the best idea if the car is left outside in the rain. That said, I don’t think we have heard of the rust situation you describe. Seized injectors occasionally happen, water or no water. But blocking the air vents isn’t the solution, especially if your engine cover is in place.

Is your car parked in a garage or covered spot, or outside exposed to the elements?

As there has been no response from the OP, I suspect that once again we have read a very odd story from a troll, this time about a “totally rusted” F-Type engine. I hope I am wrong, but….

Meh, maybe the OP isn't following closely and will pop up later.

I much more enjoy new members (of any forum), where their very first post is wanting a quick solution to some problem. Then, when no one answers within 20 minutes, they get all angry and demand a response. Definitely more entertaining...

In the OP's defence there have been some reports of water getting into the sound deadening (foam rubber???) on the top sides of the engine and causing rust. The water soaks into the material, stays there, and rusts the valve cover bolts and other bits and pieces. I would not be surprised that it could get so bad if often left out in the rain as to cause serious rust on/in many components. No such problems for me despite having the old style hood vents and no engine cover as my car is fully garaged, I rarely drive in the rain and I never wash the car with a hose/water instead I use nothing but waterless wash and detailers.
