Anyone got any ideas on how I could lessen the gap between the bottom of the metal finisher and the screen bezel? As you see from the picture there is a very noticeable gap on the left hand side (the right is fine, no gap). Is it a case of 'this is how they are?' I know the F-Type fit and finish isn't the best. I've popped the trim off and everything seems ok underneath, it fits tight, no obvious issues. The gap is reduced by pushing down on the trim but there isn't much movement because it does sit tight. I can't figure out where any adjustment might be possible? Is it a dodgy panel maybe? It looks ok, not obviously damaged or anything.
Any ideas would be really welcome as now I've seen it I can't stop wishing it wasn't there.
Obviously you’re looking too closely LOL
Suggest 1. Put a shim made up of several sheets of paper between the screen bezel and the panel above. The shim has to go right across to both sides. Once you reseat the upper panel the gap will be even all the way across
Or
2 . remove the bezel from around the screen and and reseat the bezel trying to rotate it the 1mm in a clockwise rotation. May need a small cardboard shim in either top left or bottom right extremes of the frame to create a slight twist.
It's because it's right in your line of sight. Yeah, wish I could let it go! Thanks for the suggestions. If I understand your first suggestion, that would hold off the right side, creating a small gap but making it even across? Interesting idea, never thought the issue could be that the right side is too close to the bezel.
On the second, that was my first thought but the trim appears to locate into the bezel so I thought that any rotation of the bezel would just also be applied to the trim.
In case anyone finds this later and it's useful; I was able to reduce the gap by removing the metal fastener from the back of the left side of the trim and using some 3M tape (hopefully not too much to be able to remove) to hold the bottom edge down. Needed to remove the fasteners so the trim could pivot slightly towards the bottom edge.
