As much as I admire the engineering achievement that the i8 represents, I just can't like it. I really dislike the looks.

However, the world would be a very unhappy and bland place if we all liked the same things.

EDIT: I posted before the picture of the blacked-out version was posted above. That look certainly enhances the design dramatically.

I guess the i8 is butterfly... but I am not even sure why I am rambling on about this car other than OP asked for comments. LOL

that looks like something from Robocop and that is awesome.
The i8 wasn't even hard to get in and out of. It was designed to be a DD in some sense of the phrase offering things like eco mode like the F. Could it be as practical as an F tho?

Re:BMW i8, I must respectfully disagree on the i8s beauty over the f type, but that's why there are choices. As an aside, I could barely get in and out of the i8.

Only i8 I've ever seen in person was sitting next to me in Downtown Baltimore. Looks quite special, but there was no drama when it launched. It's too clinical for my taste.

I'm with Foosh, I'm not crazy about the looks, but the monotone versions I've seen tame down some of the nutty styling cues, and vastly improve the look. While the i8 is certainly dramatic, I prefer the F-type's shape. And finally, I remember reading in an early i8 review, that one or two laps on a track significantly depletes battery reserves to the point of affecting power, that wouldn't be too much fun!

I'm not a fan of the looks of the i8, it is significantly more expensive than an F type and performance comes up short.

911's are great cars......still WAY overpriced compared to an F Type. You can have a base 911 for a price point that is similar to an F Type R but if you want one that is faster than the Jag, you'll need to pony up a bunch more cash.

I always chuckle when I read stuff like that; you'd think that these "professionals" have never driven anything more powerful than a Miata. Impossible to handle? .....maybe if you can't drive. ;-)

While I didn't get the chance to drive it, I did like the looks of it (based on a rather cursory look that is).
