Default Boot bag - Luggage Rack

Anyone got one of these or something similar and if so is it any good?

Looking for options to get a bit more luggage capacity.

Great idea. My only concern would be if the luggage was heavy it might damage the boot lid. But if it's light then it should work nicely.

Or the pop up spoiler. Those straps look precarious.

I checked out your link - seems it's only designed for the convertible. That prompted me to start searching for luggage rack options for the Coupe... Didn't not find one (and we can't include the special Tour de France bike rack version).

I've seen an R8 with a ski pod that had its front on the roof, and it's rear mounted on a rear wing - looked badass!

A while back I thought about getting one of those suction cup systems as an occasionally bike rack. I don't want anything permanent.

If the front suckers can be placed on the roof glass and the rear on the hatch glass, it might be the perfect solution. I would not apply that kind of suction (or torsional stresses) to an aluminum panel for fear of permanent deflection to the panel.

good point. I have the pano roof so for me I think it'd be a perfect temporary solution to various mounting needs. amazing so strong these suction cups can be!

Thanks - that looks like a really good option with the glass roof and tailgate.

Thanks for the suggestion!

Thanks for the link - I could see getting one of those. I can squeeze two smallish golf bags in the convertible trunk, but nothing else. The strap-on bag would allow a golf weekend away, which is something I've wanted to do.

If you got the roof mounted baggage rack and 2 golf bags in the trunk you'd also have room for the tail mounted ski rack!

Although, please don't post photos of the result, I think my eyeballs would explode

Also found this, a more solid rack and classical look. Probably not something you would be clipping on and off at a whim. I think it looks pretty good. My main worry would be damage to the boot edges from the clamps. They say it has rubber feet, but on aluminium it might leave an imprint and if left on for some time any dirt under the feet could cause paint damage.

It did work for this timeless classic--the "Route 66" Corvette.

I agree I wouldn't want it on full time, but these chrome type ones were pretty common and popular on classic sports cars including E Types back in the day.
