Default Brake calipers, brake disc and pads ftype v6s 2014

Hi,

K44 ACJ - BRG convertible love it.

I am car enthusiast but I am not technical at all with cars so I will lay out my basic questions below:
If I were to buy new brembo discs and pads from a parts distributor and not from a Jaguar independent garage or jaguar main dealer. Once fitted does the car diagnostic software need to be adjusted which can only be done by a Jaguar dealer or can a normal garage do this this on their generic diagnostic machines?

Regarding replacment brake calipers. Where do you get these from for v6s 19 inch wheels. I imagine from main dealer they are crazy money.

Thanks

A

No need to adjust or reset anything, replacing discs and pads is simple plug and play. If replacing the calipers try to get new brake line banjo bolt crush washers if you can.
Only one little "trick" - make sure the EPB (parking brake) is OFF before you touch the rear brakes (and you reset it using the switch).
No specific calipers for the 19" wheels, any and all of the steel brakes fit just not the CCM brakes.
With a V6S you will have the 380 mm front brakes so you want to stick with them and not downgrade to the 355 mm base model brakes.
You will have either the 376 mm or 326 mm rear brakes, if you have the 376 you can downgrade to 326 if you want but why would you do that, conversely you can easily upgrade from 326 to 376 as I did many years ago. But if you change the brake size in either direction you will also need replacement discs, caliper brackets and splash shields (rear only) which will cost a fair bit more. Most used calipers for sale also come with the caliper brackets and for the rears the integrated parking brake motors but if not you can easily swap over the existing motors.
Plenty of used calipers and brackets on Fleabay etc, shop around and you should find what you are after.
Yes new calipers will be very expensive, I got lucky and found a new 376 mm pair for cheap but you may not be so lucky.
The discs and pads will need to be new not used but they can be found relatively cheap, R1 Concepts discs and Porterfield R4-S pads are common choices around here.

Thank you sir for your reply. That is very detailed. I will make a note of everything and make a manual. Some people are so very helpful. Thank you Mr Australia.
