Default Brake pedal height adjustment

If you have automatic transmission, is your brake pedal closer to you than gas one? I mean higher aligned... In Europe in my tested F-type it was closer to me (as in all previous cars with AT I have owned) and I really don't like it. I have long legs, and because of the wide center tunnel the brake pedal is almost in the middle of the steering wheel, so I have to weirdly position my foot.

So I was wondering, if there is some possibility to adjust the default height, or swap with perhaps US version, because I heard rumors this is an EU safety regulation. I wish the brake pedal would be further away, so I can just slip from the gas pedal to it, and not squeeze my foot closer to my body. I have my heel on the floor of course, and it is just weird.

I would honestly love that, but the pedal is still too close and too in the middle of the driver axle so my knee is hitting the steering column. I am thinking making some extender to make the pedal wider to the left, but it must be further away nevertheless.

I believe this is a safety design, it's harder to hit both the gas and brake at the same time without realizing and even if you do, brake would have traveled more distance than gas.

If you're inclined it shouldn't be something terribly hard to modify, it is just a metal bar holding the pedals, remove it and beat it to the shape you want.

If I were to do it I'd probably make both pedals' surface level, make them hang a little bit closer to the floor and move the gas a little bit to the left.
