Default Brief Hesitation When Acclerating

2017- 340HP Base Auto

I've been experiencing an intermittent split second hesitation when accelerating under moderate to heavy pedal position. The car revs, accelerates and it feels like the fuel cuts out for a split second at around 3800-4500 RPM and then continues to accelerate, rev as normal. Can't consistently get it it to happen.

Fuel pump? Injectors? MAF? I don't have a CEL illuminated (yet). Don't want to take it to the dealer only for them to say.."Can't dumplicate customer concern."

When I had something similar it turned out to be the electrical connector on the fuel pump hadn't been seated fully and had worked a bit loose. But that threw fuel rail pressure codes, too.

Good to know...I don't have a CEL yet though.

Could be so many things from your description. Without monitoring sensors to see what is going on, usually, hesitation is either ignition, or fuel related obviously. Not sure how many miles on your car, or if you have a tune or?? With Mid-range hesitation, I usually check the plugs first (depending on miles). You could also check for intake/air of vacuum leaks (that would throw off your MAF if it is getting unmetered air entering the system) - Although that usually would cause rough idle or stumbling as well..., so I would check for leaks next/hissing or smoke test. And then of course injectors or fuel pump/filter.

Best to connect to datalogger and see what is happening when the hesitation is occurring, but barring that, I would try the above...

Good luck.

Stock tune. Only 30,000 miles. No rough idle or stumbling. Welp...to the dealer I go!

You say no check engine light. But have you also pulled the codes from the OBD port? Lots of issues log a code but don't put on the CEL. If you post the codes (auto shops will usually pull them for free if you don't have a code reader) then we may be able to help

DC with good points.

If you haven’t been using an injector cleaner every so often, try a bottle of something with PEA (maybe redline) and see if that helps. At worst Its good maintenance, at best it might resolve the issue

Hi WhiteTardis, I know its been awhile but did you ever get to the bottom of this? I'm getting exactly the same issues but only on the first pull of the drive when it does occur. No codes thrown even with the dedicated Jaguar diagnostic tool.
