Build your 2016 F-Type on jaguarusa.com
I have to give Jaguar credit, they are quick to get this information on their website.

Thanks. It does appear that the RWD V8 cars are now extinct. From the website I only count 12 variants:
V6 base manual conv and coupe = 2
V6 base auto con and coupe = 2
V6S manual conv and coupe = 2
V6S auto conv and coupe = 2
V6S AWD auto conv and coupe = 2
V8 R AWD conv and coupe =2
for a total of 12. I didn't see any mention on the build site of being able to order RWD R models.

The hood for the 2016 model has been slightly reshaped, including a secondary series of creases, and the hood vents have been repositioned as a result, and redesigned at the same time.
Also appears as though the body may be sitting slightly lower on the chassis, as the clearance between the fender and tires appears smaller both front and rear, as compared to the 2015.
I my eyes aren't deceiving me, the lowered body could well explain the additional rise in the hood.

AWD model is .2" higher than 2015.
Wheel selection has changed, not necessarily for the better - eg - no 19" black wheels on base car
Body color roof on the coupe is no longer an option (carbon fiber or glass)
Active exhaust no longer an option on the base automatic
The lowest cost performance seat option deleted
Mineral leather and carpet deleted
AWD models have new style body colored design pack standard
V6S "Super Performance" Brake option deleted, "High Performance" brake pkg standard, red or black calipers
Sound system seems to be 770W Meridian standard

That's interesting about the active exhaust on the base car.
A number of us base owners without active exhaust are convinced that the std exhaust is much louder than active exhaust cars with valves closed. In my experience, the std. is one of the loudest OEM exhausts on the road.

For the uninitiated, are the F-Type's V6's the same as the ones in the XJ? Wikipedia says the F-Type has a 60 degree V6, whereas the ones in the XJ are essentially the AJV8 with 2 cylinders "removed" (resulting in a 90 degree V6).
Also, what does the "base" model come with? I see all the packages but I'm not sure where to find what comes standard. I feel like I'd at least want heated and power seats.

The vents and creases have been repositioned, which IMO was a design mistake. The vents are farther towards the front, farther apart, and more rectangular than linear.
It was probably necessitated by thermal venting zones for the AWD, but as a result the F-Type loses its lean, sinuous lines on the hood and gains instead a squatter, more muscle-car look.
Bummer....IMO
Still torn about the AWD only move. It does make sense in some ways. But to give up the RWD model only after a year? Maybe their tests shows AWD is just so much better at putting down the power that it makes no sense to offer the RWD anymore
Yes, I don't think there's any question about the functional utility of AWD over RWD in the F-Type R and that the performance numbers will be considerably better. There really wasn't any way to easily use that power in the RWD Rs other than just burning rubber. But, of course, that was part of the fun factor. If you're an enthusiast, you have to own at least one beastly car like that to get it out of your system.
You are correct about the hood.

I did not order the In Control apps on my 2015 R coupe as they did not appear to do much. However, the 2016 In Control apps look like they will allow monitoring of the vehicle thru the apps. If that is only a software update that will carry over to earlier models I will regret not ordering the apps.
