Default Bumpy Ride - Anyone having this issue?

Bought Jag F Type S in December and only a month ago I’ve been having this issue with the car. At certain speeds (~80kmph+) the ride starts to become bumpy no matter what or how good the surface is. I’ve taken it to the dealer ship a couple of times the first time they suggested that I had slight bent wheels on my rears and somewhat flat tires. Got both issues fixed however I’m still having the issue the ride is still bumpy. Thoughts?

Is your car used or new? If used, look for mods as a possible cause.

My stock S is well-behaved at highway speeds. Roads here in Canada are generally good, but not Switzerland perfect.

What year is your ride? Can’t speak for newer ones, but the older ones have a very firm ride...they can make perfectly flat roads feel bumpy. Just watch the review of the FType by Clarkson, he says the same thing....although its supposed to be bumpier at slow and smooth out as it goes fast.

You might check to make sure your tires are not overinflated.

True that. When I picked my new one up the tires were inflated to 51 PSI; the car rode like a buckboard. Deflated them to 37 PSI and all was good.

its a 2017 model bought it brand new. It actually gets bumpier as the speed increase 😅. As for my tires they’re around 41 PSI.

There is something wrong there - generally the ride should feel better the faster you are going, even on poor roads. Is it vibrating the steering, or just your bum?

Ah...those wonderful octagonal OEM Pirelli PZero tires!...you might begin by lowering the pressures to the specified 36 pound level to see if that improves things...tire balance can have an effect as well...could you have lost some of the weights?

Please clarify what you mean by "I got both issues fixed". How, by whom and perhaps they didn't actually do a good job. Have a second repair guy review the prior guys job as it sounds like he may not have actually resolved it and the wheels could be "out of round". Another issue. How did they get bent and flat in the first place? Did you hit a pothole to create the bend? Did you slam on break and (somehow) lock up the wheels in order to have created a "flat spot" or did you perhaps drag the car across pavement with the tires locked in order to scrub off rubber to the point they were "flat" or did you mean that you simply didn't have enough air in them? If you did "flat spot" them, the only fix may well be to replace the tires

If the initial damage was caused by hitting something or a pothole, the tire ply could have been damaged causing this symptom.

A bunch of things could do this. Wheel balance, alignment, bent wheel, drive shaft balance or operating angles.

AIW another post on spoilers, drive way past 80mph, & settle at 100+mph, then the rear spoiler make your car more planted & smoother....
