Hello.
I am new member here. I just bought 2016 F-Type R Convertible from Carvana. Paid $2.000 shipping from Texas to Southern California. Will be delivered to my house next Tuesday.

I wonder if the previous owner is in this forum. I traded my 2006 Porsche Carrera S (75K mikes). Still not sure if I did the right thing. . I think F-Type is beautiful and 550 HP with crazy exhaust sound. Currently it has the most bang for the bucks, due to heavy depreciation.
I just want your honest, opinion. After all, we are car enthusiasts.
Beautiful 911! Will be interesting to hear you're impressions after you drive your F-Type for a bit. The Porsche is a scalpel, the F-Type is a hammer. Hard to say if it was the right choice for you, but they are a big hoot and very different than your other car - variety is fun!
Congrats @dblam65 ! I purchased my '16 F type on Carvana as well. Make sure you get a post purchase inspection and utilitze the Carvana warranty with Silver Rock to get any repairs covered in their limited time period. I got them to cover replacement of all 4 rotors/pads and replace the supercharger coupler as well as the cooling pipes, all in about $7K worth of parts/labor.
Be sure to check the operation of the center ventilation unit. On some older cars, the gears get noisy and/or the unit fails to operate at all. Check the age of the battery. Check the expiration date on the tire sealant. A good replacement is the Airman Unibottle sold on Amazon.
Verify that the flanged heater/coolant pipes have been replaced, at least with the semi-updated solid plastic units, and there are now JLR metal replacements available.
Check the headlight lenses for 'microcracking', degradation of the lens which cannot be polished out, headlight replacement only and $$$$$$.
FCPEuro is a good source for maintenance supplies.
A good friend bought a 992. I still think I made the right choice with my F-Type and when I went from a coupe to my convertible, I cross shopped and chose the F-Type a second time. Here's what I've noticed about the differences:
There is A LOT more support for the Porsche. From places tha work on them to aftermarket upgrades, the difference is night and day.
There is a much larger community for the 911. The local PCA does drives every month in the area. They are so big that they also put on many new member drives that are in no way small.
The 992 has much better tech, features and is probably one of the best all around sports cars out there.
A friend once said 'You know the problem with 911 owners? They're right'.
My point is the F-Type is a much different experience. Coming from a 2006, the F-Type will be a step up in most ways. Quicker faster, better tech, etc. You will notice a marked reduction in space with only the small trunk and no room behind hte seats. The on demand power form the supercharged V8 is addictive and intoxicating.
The F-Type is in a stange blind spot with the car community. Most people don't seem to know what it is. Some look down on it, others respect what Jaguar did. It is rare and I sometimes go many weeks without seeing another one. It gets a lot of interest at gas stations.
It's a much different owner experience. I dig it and let's be honest, it is A LOT of car for the money.
