Default A/C Started running hot

Recently the infotainment screen has started to blink and then the A/C will start blowing hot. After a minute or so the air goes back cold and is good to go for awhile. The problem has not happened to me yet but usually happens when my wife is driving. There are no codes and no CEL so I am at a loss of where to start looking.

As a side note: I do live in GA where the internal temperature for the car has gotten into the 115-degree range. I drive it to work daily, and it is parked outside. I still have the original Y-Pipe and the car is not modified. From my knowledge the car has never been modified in any way.

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

Consider cleaning the internal air temperature sensor. It's behind a small grill near the steering wheel. It has a fan, and will collect dust which can impede the sensor.

Is there a smell?
When my Jeep AC was failing there was a smell like damp mown hay.
Also, perhaps the momentary screen problem indicates a high power draw or loss of charging power which might be caused by a sticking compressor or a slipping belt.

Do you have a photo of the area where the grille is? same for all model years? Pop the grille off with standard plastic trim tools? Thank you!
