Mine always blows hot air for a minute or two after startup (car, not wife). Our temps are pretty high in summer, around what you are saying.

After a couple of minutes the air cools down. I haven't had that issue with any other Jag, it seems to be peculiar to the XK.

I think most cars do that on start up , same when idleing then cool down when moving ,
This problem was all the time .

I wish could get mine to blow all the time , ( not the car )

Since the driver and passenger sides 'can' be controlled independently, are you sure the passenger side wasn't 'cranked up'?
If not, sounds like maybe whatever controls that 'split' has gone wonky.

Could be wrong but I seem to remember similar issues in the S type section, I'll try to check if I get a minute

Bernie, a code read for the Jaguar specific climate control codes with an SDD system or AutoEnginuity might reveal a clue.

I've complained to the service center at the dealership to where I bring my car about the really slow start-up (at least 3-5min) for cold air when set to AC. They claim they have tested the system and "all is good".
It's sad that my 4Runner blows cold air faster (almost immediately) than my Jag...

My car was doing this with one side hot and the other cold, I took it to an air con specialist which tested the system. Was just apparently low on gas, topped up to the max and now cold air out all the vents.

Same here where pass side warmer than driver and usually an indication the freon is low. definitely check that first.

Charged mine and all was good. In fact it was so good that I ended up with the dreaded water in passenger well due to the poorly designed duck bill drain in the 07XK.

Guess the previous owner removed freon to either mask issue or that was their solution.
